mountaineer sports markets the CDS (controlled descent system).....with this one you can lower yourself to the ground....the cost is around 300.....expensive?...yes...worth it? depends on how much you value your life....I used Seat of the Pants products for years...felt safe til I saw the video on this site:

I have the Hunter Saftey System and looking at switching to the CDS vest...The saftey system is good, but what kills a person isn't just the fall...its hanging in the tree for too long with no way of getting down...The CDS vest solves that issue right away!

well said, Tenpointrack.....hanging from the tree can be just as fatal as falling from it.....friend of mine had multiple surgeries to repair an ankle shattered when he fell...I bet he wishes he had spent the 300 on a CDS....
