Ok i'm looking for your opinion on what I should do. I own and hunt on a decent sized piece of property. Last night when I was walking out on one of my trails I noticed a tree stand hanging right on my property line. The problem is this, I had problems with this guy who had permission in the past to hunt that very small piece of back yard property. He has cut trees on my clearly posted property for shooting lanes and scattered corn from my swamp to his stand.. On one day it looked like mischief night for about 300 yards on my property underneith of several stands right into my swamp. As I walked this line of toilet paper I found it leading to a spike buck as I jumped him. (spikes are illegal in my zone 3 point or better). I went to the house and as I got into the driveway I found the hunter and his family talking about his wonderful deer he just shot. They were armed with cameras, sneakers and smelling like they were going out on the town. They were aout to go on a track onto my property without permission and stink it up, ruin my woods for a while.. I told him of my findings and advised him that spikes were not legal. He had the ba!!s to tell me that "toilet paper is biodegradable it would go away in time"...The long of it was that spike ran further away and he did not go onto my property to get it and was told to stay off. Heres the deal...This property that he is hunting on is a back yard and their is no possible way that he is shooting deer without it being on my property or running onto my property...that property he is hunting is too small and here he is back onto mine again...unless he spines it under his stand he will be on my property again.... My opinion is this, I understand that he might be legal to sit in this back yard but I dont want him shooting deer and walking around in my property smelling it up and jumping deer. He does not communicate with me and I would not know if he just ran the deer away from a stand that I might go and sit wasting my time. The reason I bought property and pay taxes is to be left alone and for this guy to reapear on my property line again and knowing that he will be walking around on my property is really p!ss!ng me off...... Am I wrong? What would you do?

talk to tracy about him.
the warden won't go door to door threatening people about not tresspassing. but may talk to him since he's cutting on private property. i have guys that hunt the property line on me. i have told them if you drop your hat on my side, call me i'll get it for them. but they can track a deer on my place. as much as i like my place left alone, i will not refuse someone their deer. i don't want it rotting on my place.
your guy is pushing it. if he can't drop the deer on his side he needs to ask permission to tresspass, you don't have to let him. it's a tough one, you don't live there, you can't watch all the time.
he is in the wrong, talk tracy stites.

I think you have to ask him to stay off and move on.
If it was me, and he approached me prior to hunting and tracking on the land and we had worked something out, than ok. It sounds like this guy is just doing whatever he wants whenever he wants and that isn't cool.

I agree talk to Tracy about it and see what your options are. Then go from there.

Thanks for taking the time to read my long story of frustration and giving me your thoughts...I understand about being allowed to get his deer but everything he does and has done in the past has been sneaky...he was not in there last year(from what I know) but I dont go walking around on my property looking for him either... You have to understand that this he is hunting in a back yard where he is in view of the yards...Thier is no property there for him to be hunting....Last night I found this stand by just luck...he hid it and the steps on the oposite side of the tree so when I walk my property I really cant see it....now seeing this I know hes gonna be a sneak again...Thier is no possible way for him to think hes gonna hunt there and not ever have to go on my property...The kicker is he has it set up on the line shooting my side!!!!!!! Its either that or hes shooting the kids in the back yard!!!!!!! This is what happens when you are nice to people..they always push it...If I dont say something now I know he will have more stands on the line and feel comfortable that he is getting away with it....I think its going to get ugly....I have Tracy's number I think i will call but as long as the guy is on the property he is allowed on what do I have until I catch him on mine?

Not that I would advocate jammin the guy, but since he is obviously being an ass,,,......You said development. He may have permission on the yard he is in, but what about 450' from the other houses, ie neighbors??? That would be an angle the warden could use to 'discourage' him.
Call Tracy, have him talk to the guy. Tell him he cannot come on your property without asking first, and if he does, charge him every time. And call your video partner so you can get some footage rolling.

After you call the warden set up a trail cam facing a posted sign on your property and charge his a$$ every time you get a pic of him on your property. Some people have no respect of what others go through to have private property.

prosecute. Once you make an example of someone others will be attentive.

Problem was taken care of.....Once I looked at the property line and corner stones he was actually on my property by about 3 feet....Signs went up on every other tree and a real nice note on his tree with my number...I got a call and spoke to the landowner and it was taken care of...so at this time no law enforcement involvement...for now....
