One of the members gave me this sad story about her nephew who was down on his luck. The poor dog lived in the car all summer. He lost his job and had no place to live, but found a new job and apt that would allow him to bring the dog...but couldn't move in for 4-6 weeks. The aunt asked if anyone would be willing to foster her for that amount of time until he got settled and he would pay for food, etc.
WELL, that was in October, and Kathy the generous soul who fostered her still has her. She has put a lot of money in to vet bills to get her healthy and has not had any contact with the owner..he abandoned the poor dog. He moved to NC,..she was so thin and starved when she got there she wouldn't stop eating. Kathy has worked with her a lot...she is now housebroken and walks on a leash.
