Missed a big doe. Saw 9 total. Passed up 3 at 5 yards. Saw three at about 28-30 yards. Picked the biggest one. String hit jacket sleeve and arrow hit about 4 feet low. Oh well.

My son & I were up in the Geen Lane area and as soon as first light came we had a nice Doe come right into us, couldn't get a shot on her! Then about 8 am we had 2 more come in that didn't present us a shot at all. Then off in the distance we see a lot of movment and couldn't tell what they were but they were big!!! They never came up to the stand.

So we went back in at 3 pm. I went to a different stand to give him a chance by himself, and he saw 3 nice Doe the first one came right under him, he told me that he had to look theu the footrest of the stand to see her. I asked him why he didn't shoot and guess what his answer was?? Dad, I didn't want to spine her and waste all them backstraps! Oh well! Can't blame him there!
We thing the deer we saw off in the distance were Buck or at the least very very big Doe's.

Tried a new area yesterday,at first light missed a doe at 20 yards shooting through the dense foilage that is still up,killed the ground.2 minutes later, another doe circled back behind my stand, shot, and the bottom limb of the bow hit the climber and my sleeve.Saw sparks, knew there was a dead rock behind that deer.Pass through?
The heard was milling around the area and the queen doe was on the top of the ridge snorting a weeezing, out of range for me but my partner took the 40 + yard shot and missed.I look down and another doe was 15 yards from my stand ,I call my partner and tell him I have 1 arrow left, but wasan`t sure about my second shot,Decided to let her go not knowing.
A couple of minutes later a solid THUMP form my partners stand:bow:.That was a hit!He called and said he drilled a doe and that he had a BIG buck 75 yards away.We waited 1.5 hours and the woods went quiet. The big guy walked off.
Climbed down, checked my shots,2 misses.I suck.Partner, 1 miss 1 hit.Tracked the doe for 2.5 hours on our hands and knees through hellish cover. We were going to do every thing in our power to find this deer.Only small drops of blood? After 400 yards the blood had stoped and we were in disbelief. After all that.....645 am to 659 am,saw 20 plus deer .4 shots and 1 lost doe.
Headed back for lunch back in by 230 pm,I saw nothing till dark.A lone doe outta range, and a spike passed his stand. He spotted a MONSTER buck at 72 yards but couldn`t call him in.
Was very disapointed in the lose of the doe,had a great time and will be back to that spot shortly.

I shot two doe friday night to warm up for Sat when bucks became legal. Sat. morning I missed a cow of a doe and passed up several skippers. No buck sightings. Zero deer sighted in the PM. This was in Chesco.

Harvested a doe on Sat. morning at 8am in 5d. 12 yard shot from a tree stand and found her about 40 yards away. Didn't see anything else.

Headed out in upper bucks county....around 645, had a small 4 point come by at like 40 yards. 715: turned around and there was a doe standing 15 yards away. Tried to turn around to shoot but she got wind of me 845: nice size fox walked by 915: 4 deer come running toward my stand. The biggest doe gave me a shot opportunity but I was hunting to deep into a bedding area to shoot a doe (long drag but worth it for a buck:) ) She had her fawns with her: a big button buck and a small doe. The fawns bedded 5 yards from my stand for about 1.5 hrs. They finally got up and wandered off so I got down for lunch. Went to another stand for the afternoon....saw 3 doe all out of range. My dad missed a doe and they saw a nice 8 point while driving down the road to meet up with me....

Hunted 5D both am & pm Saturday. Sat am, I had a buck come in straight at me spooked and saw the rack for about 10 seconds coming at me and my brain registered "non- shooter" because the spread was only about 16" inside. Well, for the three seconds he was broadside @ 20 yards, I started to revise that opinion when I saw his back tines were 10" and his bases were as thick as my wrist, obviously a 3 1/2 year old buck and a whole lot better than my initial assessment. In the time it took for those thoughts to occur, he was back on his way and that was that...oh well, hopefully I will see him again...
In the evening I had some squirrels making a ruckus in front of me and heard some noise behind me and assumed it was another squirrel. As I turned my head a little I saw rack at twelve yards and slowly reached for my bow thinking it was the buck from the morning. Turns out is was a garden variety 2 1/2 year old 8 point with about the same spread on a spindly rack. Watched him for a few minutes and then got down early to go check out a kill made by my friend's son- about a 115 class eight point, he smoked it at 15 yards and watched it pile up. Boy was that kid stoked!

I hunted private land behind my house in the A.M. with a buddy from Jersey. We saw 3 bears, no deer. After lunch at home we went to the game lands in 4C. I sat at a food plot where I saw 3 doe and a small 6 pointer just before dark. My buddy saw 5 doe, no shooters, but a good day anyway. I'll be back at it this afternoon.
