Ok, this buck has a story, this year I saw this monster(well, for winter bow) with a twin in early bow season when you have to shoot a doe first. Then later someone shot his twin buck, and he was still running around. No one saw him in a while then I come out tonight and try to kill a doe, but will take a big buck. I get in the stand around 3:15. I start to get a little cold but not really. I look down the run and a doe is coming, then I look further back and I see more. I start to stand as one goes through the lane, then I stand draw the second goes way to fast could'nt get a shot off, so I let off. Then more are coming I see two more then a third but it look big so I passed those 2 then I see the third a big buck for winter bow passes the three point rule. I draw, it stops in the lane and I let it rip and WACK I hear it hit. The deer runs and fall then gets up and walks then falls then runs some more my dad comes cause he watched me shoot it we find blood wait 45 minute then get at it. It barely bleeds at all but the master tracker was following it on his hands and knees then looks at me and he found it and it was NICE for me and for NJ winter bow.

nice deer congrats! during winter bow no less! Cal Gregg Ribs out of Williamstown for the mount. His look as good in 10yrs as they do the day you pick it up. He is also the nicest guy you will ever meet. I should start asking for a commision.

Am I the only one who is going to say the obvious... he killed this deer out of season because winter bow was not open Sunday the 31st, in zone 27. Did you check it in, if so, where or when did you tell them you killed it?

That's not right. I called the office and was told the actual law says that the season went from jan 1 to 31. The book was written before the law was signed by the gov.

I got this from another site.....
The Digest went to print prior to the legalization of Sunday bow hunting. The
31st is a legal hunting day.

Just more hocus pocus from the Division. The fact is, Sunday Bow hunting was signed into law on May 4th. The Digest did not go to the printers before that. In fact, the Game Code changes were not voted for until June 16th, and they all made the Digest. So if the Game Code changes that didn't happen until June 16th get in there, yet Sunday Bow hunting was law 6 weeks before that, how can this answer you got be true.
Here is a better question...does anyone at the Division of Fish and Wildlife think they have any credibility left, or do they care that they do not?

Geeze DV1 give it up, so the book was wrong...whoopty do! At least some were smart enough to realize it was a likley mistake and verified that Sunday was open.
How about just congratulating the kid eh?
