HELLO EVERYONE.
This is my first post. I love this new site. Long overdue.
Anyway, I lost my spot this year after eight years of hunting because of a nasty divorse. Not me, My nephew, I was hunting his father in laws land.
When my nephew kicked out his daugter for messing around on him while he sat home on the weekends with his three kids I knew it was just a matter of time before I got the call. Well yesterday it came. No more. Not this is your last year. It was your done today. Any way I'm very gratefull to have had the time that I did to hunt there and I thanked him. All good things come to an end eventually I guess. I've taken many deer there. Bucks and does. I must say I was a walking zombie for a week there and very depressed. I would never find a place that good that close again I thought. Well saturday I thought it would be a good day to go knockin on some doors since it was raining. The first place I stopped at the woman said I could hunt on a patch of woods next to her house and park in her driveway. She even mentioned that the deer came out of those woods. I couldnt not believe my luck and could herdly contain myself,I thought she was going to shoot me down but she was very kind. I took a walk around and found an area that had six apple tree's and a nice big oak tree with a trail going under so I ran home to get a stand. I setup the stand in the rain and I will be hunting it on Saturday. I just wanted to relate my story so everyone know's there are still good people out there who will let you hunt their land. I will miss the old place every time I drive by it but it was time to move on. Good luck to all and may you allways have a sweet spot to hunt.

Good luck with the new spot. I too met some very nice folks this year who extended their hunting land to me .

BTW, I assume you meant to say that he kicked his wife out for messing around on him and not his daughter:huh:

good luck in the new spot. Glad to see that you went and asked for permission people are very receptive when thay are asked instead of just going into section of woods and hunting. Glad to see a respectful hunter:D.
