1-2 South Zone Report with Pix!!

Hunted our river with me, dad, and buddy bill. Saw ducks flying all morning, more right after the sun came up. Most would not come right right in, but we did fool two. (one is a black/mallard hybrid) Missed a couple teal flying in that wind about 60mph! :D Glad we got out, looking to continue the shooting next week. :cool:

thats a hybrid,cool I always thought those were young drakes,live and learn. I remember when I was in school I did a report and study as to why the interbreeding of blackducks and other ducks was hurting the blackduck population, nice job:)

Yea, pretty cool stuff. I was reading up on how the drake mallards are much more reliable to hen black ducks during mating season. It had to do with the coloration of the mallard and them having more aggression. Thanks liftman. :cool:

Ive seen one of those hybrids before theyre neat.

No stevo, I did see 2 deer that looked to be doe. But they were running and couldnt get a positive ID. But id rather go waterfowlin anyday i honestly really dont even like deer hunting except for bow season. But my dad said he wanted to kill a buck and we were going deer hunting and i had no choice since m only 15, so i said okay i guess im goin deer hunting too cuz im not sittin on the couch all day. haa lol. O well Il get back out for ducks and geese a couple more times and then a long snow goose season ahead. I m pumped. But thats pretty neat that WCB killed a hybrid Malltail haa lol. Good job:thup:
