T/C omega ram rod

I purchased a used T/C Omega from my brother-in-law. The ram rod handle sticks out from the barrell about 1". He told me that he shot many times with it like this and never had an issue. Is this normal? If I unscrew the handle, the rod is perfectly even with the end of the barrell.

Yes it is normal.I have one on my omega and encore. I do not like it , but so far it has not hurt anything.I used to take mine off,but it's a pain to put it back on trying to reload fast.

i got a wolf ml and broke rod made a new on from a replacement rod.the old one had an extension you had to unscrew and it would extend.i cut new one to full length and wonder same thing .will it take off with shot or stay put,.lol. it would b funny if you killed a deer with ramrod.
