Muskrat trappers- it's a bit early, but I am looking for muskrat glands preferably frozen and unsalted, but salted will be ok also. I will pay excellent prices by the quart container.

Does anyone have glands for sale now? I would prefer fresh in a little Vodka or Everclear but frozen will work also, maybe salted. I would prefer no glycol or the like however. Does anyone know about how many glands make a gallon or quart? I would like one or two gallons if they are available but I will take any amount I can get as I understand there is a shortage and prices are up as a result. I am new to this board, just joined today so I could post, but I have been reading the posts for a few years. I have purchased from Dobbins and Jameson's in past years, but this year I hope to do a production of the Musk oil in our lab if I can get enough glands to do the distilling and convert the 98% odorless musk precursors in the glands to the Musk Ketones responsible for the odor in the spring glands. If this is done it will make 98% more usable musk from every gland treated and hopefully make it more cost effective to use the natural musk in lures as I understand a lot of trappers have found more and more that they need to rely on synthetics. I hope to be able to change that trend.
If anyone can help me get the glands I need, please email me at mythrhun@comcast.net (mythrhun@comcast.net). I saw $100 per quart on the list today and would be happy with a price in that range for good glands.
Thanks, Douglas
