Possibly I will hit the lottery for a cazillion dollars.
I would guess that with NO WIND, 150 grains,of powder,a very light bullet, a 20 x 50 scope on top it could be possible. The problem with black powder is the lack of velosity. At 200 yards the bullets are not moving very fast and any wind will blow them all over the place.
Even if you could shot 1"groups at 200 yards, is there enough killing power at that range. Most books recommend a striking energy of a minimum of 700 at impact. To figure this out take the Velosity squared times the weight of the bullet.
With todays bullets, 150 grains of powder, good scope and a good rest 1" groups are possible at 100 yards and likley with practice. But 200 yards I doubt it.

It can be done. A guy seating next to me was shooting an encore with 250 gr shockwaves and three mag pellets. He had a jagged hole at 200 meters at Atglen Sportsman Club.He admited that he can not do it every time, but that he has done it a few times.I can not do it.Mine holds about 4 inch group at that distance. To find the energy of the bullet I use the speed times the speed times the weight of the bullet divided by 450,240,but thats at the muzzle.

three pyro's and a 245 aero tip comes out at between 2290 and 2400 depending on the barrell lenth and how tight the bore . a friend of mine hit and dropped abear 400lb plus at 150 yrds in colorado . then why not a deer at 200. a good gun and a good shooter can be done.1" grope maybe but how meny bullets to a grope 2,3,4 ? like to see it , like to be able to do it :eek:

I checked the chart from CVA on their powerbelts.
150 grains of powder, 245 grain bullet, at 200 yards their will be either 922 or 1065 foot pounds of energy at 200 yardsdepending on which 245 you use. It will kill a deer, but I would suggest only a broadside shot through both lungs.
