I have hunted a hoyt for the past 7 years and am going to buy a new bow before i get married and am tied down....:D I have always been a hoyt guy and really like some of the new ones (maxis and alphaburner). I also like what Matthews has to offer. Recently I have been doing alot of reading on the Bowtech Destroyer and its got my attention. Any feedback would be great.

With bows as I am sure you know already, you really need to shoot them all and decide which one works best for you.

What I can share with you is that, I myself was a Hoyt man for years until I shot a Mathews. They (to me) are the smoothes, most forgiving and quietest bows on the market. I am now a Mathews man!

But lets face it...you really can't go wrong with any 3 of those companies.

I'm not sure what the model is,but the commercial I seen on one of those hunting shows that featured the new mathews bow.was looking good.shoots 300 and some fps had my attention. but I too use a hoyt had it for the past 5 years and i'm pleased with it.but if i was looking to get a new bow I would deffentally be looking at that new mattews.

I'm hearing ALOT of people swooning over the new Mathews. I think it's called the Z7. Even some die hard Hoyt guys I know who previously said the Switchback XT and Alpha MAX were the best bows ever made, are now saying the new Mathews is better.

I would go to thw sportsmans center in bordentown and shoot each .. they are the best at set up . If you can get Vinnie to work on it you are in some of the best hands around . I would get there when they open andmaybe even call ahead and set an appt with him.

Matthews makes a good bow , but they have a great marketting team and spend alot on that ! there are better bows out there. That being said it might be the best bow to me but you might shoot it and not like its feel. Shoot a couple of bows and pic the one that you feel good with . I know i dont make alot of money to buy multiple bows and when we are now getting into a new bow for around a grand by the time we are all said and done . i would really look at a few and shoot them all . any shop not willing to set up one for you to shoot then set up another and another when u are going to spend that much i wouldnt waste my time in.

This was my first year hunting and i shot a couple of bows and i ending up going with the bowtech admiral. i sent it to carters archery and had it tuned and everything else. for me it was a short axle bow that i liked and it had a decent brace height as well. with all that said now im looking for a backup just incase and im leaning toward the pse x-force xs with the 27in axle to axle. someone chime in if you have one with your thoughts before i go test one please. so just shot every bow you can being a cheap or exspensive and pick what feels the best.

I'm with ya duckwork, I got the Martin Bengal this year and I love it. Shame more stores don't carry them. Place I got it in Vineland had to mailorder it for me. Shoots great. I did a lot of research and for the money it was the best option.

There are so many good bows on the market it's hard to decide. Go with whatever makes you feel the most confident when you shoot it. I've had good success through the years with Browning & Mountaineer but recently switched to the Bowtech Allegiance and can say it's the best performing bow I've ever shot.

I had a cheaper Browing, a mid-level Fred Bear and a Mathews Drenalin over the last few years. My brother had an '06 Switchback XT and a '08 or '09 Mission X3 by Mathews. Do yourself a favor. Find a used '05 Switchback or '06 Switchback XT and never let it go. It was far and away the best shooting bow I've ever shot. If you check EBay you will see that they are still selling for the same price the Drens are if not a bit more and almost as much as the DXT's. I've been looking all over the net for a SBXT but I haven't found the right combo for the right price.

Here is a thread from last year speaking about the Mathews line.

http://www.thebuckbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=80&highlight=mission&page=1

Last year I shot the Hoyt AM32 and one of the new Mathews ( Reezen ). The Hoyt was by far the superior performer.

Just this week I shot the Bowtech Admiral and Captain and I have to say they are both really nice. The guy behind the counter at the shop had good things to say about the new Mathews Z7 but I didn't shoot it.

I've shot the Z7..it is the smoothest bow I have ever shot. Also look at Elite archery. Strothers archery is another great brand to throw in the mix. Shoot a ton of bows and make your decision. The prices on high-end bows are roughly all the same.

Bowtech Baby!!! The new Destroyer is next on my list. I have a guardian and the new captain. Smooth , fast enough , and the friggin quietest bows money can buy. Again , shoot them all , Mathews has a fat chunky grip, Hoyt and Bowtech have slender grips with a tight shelf. So many diff's , but they are the big 3 for a reason, they are all awesome....
