If you cant shoot does and you cant shoot young bucks because everyone is a trophy hunter then what does that leave for the guys who actually hunt for meat. I dont really care if the deer has antlers I am just looking to fill the freezer. I will not kill unlimited does I will not kill more then 3 deer per yr thats what my family eats. Seems like all the trophy hunters where always saying just shoot a doe let the young bucks pass now we are not allowed to shoot them. I agree the herd is hurting but thats not from the guys who shoot one doe its from the guys and clubs that shoot every doe that moves.

but just remember, there's a good chance those 3 does are pregnant with twins, so when you harvest those 3 does, thats actually 9 deer killed

thats what i did when i used to blackpowder it. 1 doe, and if i didnt get a doe i would get one the week before buck season with the shotgun, then that was it. no does shot in jan/feb

Here we go with this dumb math....... If they were killed in Sept would'nt that be the same 3 sets of twins not born?

So if you chop down an oak tree how many trees did you really chop down.I don't think when you shoot a doe you have to check in three deer or do ya.

Why don't you guys take your political bull somewhere else. Why do you have to screw up a 13yr olds thread.
Zone 19 has plenty of does, shoot em up buddy.

h and r i understand your concern however most private lands are over populated with does and buck to doe ratio is way out of control most private properties need doe harvesting most don't understand that if you have a 1 to 10 ratio thats 10 does to that 1 buck and those does eat more that the 1 buck obivously if you decrease the amount of does now you have created better habitat for that buck creating more browse and more forage allowing better antler and body growth so before we go yelling stop killing does we need to observe the herd we hunt i am fortunate to hunt a top area of the state seeing many deer(mostly does) 1 evening this past august i counted 67 does in a field they were shoulder to shoulder feeding and mowing the soy beans down only 4 bucks were seen in this field in a 2 month period not saying there were not more around but if there are that many does the herd is way out of check so before saying don't kill them maybe we should look at the population of the herd in that area

Yeah Bambam we NEED YOU to keep our sport alive! Go get one!
There are places that actually have too many does. If can hook up in one of those areas your gold.
Today many regions certainly have been overhunted and it's a dang shame. As hunters back off a bit, and many are, those places will flurish again in 5-10 years. However we gotta let the youngsters take a few to keep em interested! Unfortunately there are a lot of old timers that never believed in killing does and they were wrong.

Well you have H&R counting every offspring that a doe will have when you harvest it.Guess where oak trees come from.;)Hey does anybody know how many Kentucky Derby winners that were offspring of a previous winner.Nevermind that's a whole other topic.

Hey STRUT1 maybe you will kill a buck if you pass on the doe's and be patient for a buck. Hunters in Pennsy and Jersey should NOT kill doe's for 3 years unless you are a youth hunter. KIDS ONLY, killing doe's for 3 years.
