so i started a thread on the gamw wardens/conservation officers.i wonder what the law isregarding hunting with guns/muzzle loaders.say you hunt a stand and just at dark deer decide to move through your spot ,or even in your pile. if youre like myself i wont get down until they leave so as too not scare the deer and ruin the spot. i wonder if they can ticket you saying your hunting ,even if gun is unloaded .with my muzzle i can quietly open barrel and take cap out. i dont think there is a law on how long i can stay in woods after dark.ive stayed a half hour before.and what if you shoot a deer at dusk but dont find till like 7 and you have your gun as you track .hmhmhhmm just wondering .WHATS YOURE THOUGHTS

most co's are road hunters;) maybe if the stand can be seen from the road, i do think there a phone number tobe called if your chaseing/tracking after dark, meaning if you are caugth pulling your deer out of the woods at 9pm wheres the proof you didn't just shoot it 15min ago,and no one heard the shot.,maybe things like a warm barrle, fresh wet blood(not dryed up) on your hands. would be tell tail signs of after hour kills

You can have your gun after hours tracking a deer. It just can't be loaded. So just follow the law and unload your gun like your supposed to, it's that simple. Big deal you spook the deer unloading in the stand, I'd be willing to bet that deer will stay in the area.

And if you can't find anything regarding your question in the digest, be proactive and call the local region office.
