So every year, i spend a considerable time in the woods in january scouting and every year i am very concious of where other people are hunting and do my best to let them be. However, every year i have a last minute hunter find my stand and attempt to outwit me instead of the deer. This year was a completely different story, On monday and today i found a man leaving his stand 10 minutes before 5 o'clock without even a flash light. His stand is located 30 yards off my pile and it really irratates me that another hunter would actually do things like this. SO for all you last minute people out there do us a favor either don't hunt or avoid using other people hard work. Hunting cost money and all you do is steal our money and time.

Are you sure he knew you had bait set up there? Did he have a climber or did he have a stand set there? These guys will be out of the woods on Saturday night. Then its back to game on.

yes he new i was there because he was looking for me in my stand tonight and tried to sneak out with out me seeing. Plus i baited on monday of last week and saw his stand which was on my way to mine about 400 yard before me then all of a sudden oh friday his stand was gone and there were fresh tree tacks on my line in to my stand. So not only was he using my pile but also my line.

Leave him a note first, if no response, get the saw out or the bolt cutters. That kind of ignorance is intolerable.

Yet when someone comes on bitching about a stand being stolen, everyone bitch's about it. Things that make you go Hmmm.

About 7 or 8 years ago I was hunting a nice spot off a hidden pond. I didn't bait here because the deer were using the runs to go to and from this pond to drink as it was still early in the season and quite warm. Well, my work schedule kept me from going for about a week, but I left my portable and pegs in the woods as I've never had a problem where I hunt. I went back one evening to hunt and to my surprise, about 25 yards I notice a brand new permanant stand with a some camouflaged jack ass sitting over a GIANT pile of sweet potatoes and corn. I politely walked up to the stand and asked him if he happened to see my portable a few yards away..his response was "I'm sorry but no, I never even bothered to look". He was extremely apologetic and offered to get down and not hunt there anymore..I told him no, you go ahead have this spot, but I'll be taking my time getting my portable down for the rest of the evening. It just truly amazed me that he never bothered to scout there area, he just put up an illegal permanant stand and threw out some bait.

what really gets me about this hunter over the week is that i stumbled on his stand in january and made it a point to not interfere with him and also never used a machette to cut a line for fear that someone may get curious. then friday roles around and i notice his stand was missing and fresh tacks leading to my stand location. Also i have to work today and the rest of the week so i may never no what he is doing. HOpefully he will not hunt muzzleloader

I have had a stand in a location for the past two years, I only bowhunt and I went to my stand Thanksgiving morning. My stand has been up and baited regularly since Labor day. When the sun came up I looked and saw a strange yellow color on the ground forty yards away. When I got down from the stand I walk over and discover a pile of corn on the cob. Who would bait that close to someone elses setup. My stacking sticks and stand are easy to see. On top of that I shot a buck a week earlier from this stand and forgot to take my four scent wicks with me. This person actually took my scent wicks and hung them around their bait. Who are these people. The following Saturday I sat at tis location and at 3:30 a hunter comes walking through the woods right to my stand. I asked him where he was hunting. He said he had two ladder stands in another direction about 300 yards away. We talked for a few minutes like we were standing in front of a WaWa. He never did say why he went out of his way to come by my stand to get to his. Some people have no conscience.

unfortunatly this the mentality of the next generation they can hunt anywhere they want screw you i tried baiting a stand a few years ago on a ridge ive been hunting for over 35 years i have 3 stands in ther whiich are for different wind directions some ignorant jackass walked thru my bait went 30 yard past it put out a cofee can of corn(left the can) and climbed up in a his stand between 2 of my stands and hunted it.Iget in the woods before anyone else and get down after. i believe he would ride by if he didnt see my truck he would sneek in.If someone is hunting an area you may have to settle on somewhere notas good thats the way it should be respect the efforts of others .Coffee has an ass kicking coming.

in most cases its not ignorance, just a complete lack of respect for anyone else. just found a ladder stand 20 yards from a stand I've been bowhunting all year on state ground. I had 2 portable stands in the tree overlooking a funnel from a swamp to some open oaks. I know damn well my new neighbor saw the stands... just didn't give a flying fish.
