1100 magazine plug

I just bought an 1100 from the early 70's left hand eject model, sweet gun for a lefty! only one problem it does not have a magazine plug to limit the number of shells. I bought a plug but i don't know how to install it because the magazine does not have openings at either end. Does the forward end pop open? Can anyone help? thanks

Take the cap off that holds the barrel on. You should see a split plug right under where the barrel cap covers .A screw drver will pop it out . Watch out for the spring.You put the mag plug in first. Flat end first .Put the spring in then the split plug and you are good to go.

I have an old 1100 and just cut a 5/16 rod and dropped it in the end under the cap.

A pencil about 4 inch's long and you don't have to take any thing apart.
