rut is way down/hope for straglers

rut seems definately pretty much done where i hunt.last week of bow in 65 i went from seeing a buck on every hunt to zero.the thurs,fri and than muzzle mon and tues resulted in none.ive been hunting this area all season and saw at least 12 different bucks,as of late they pulled there buck magic...lol.saw 12 doe lastnight now theres 11.lol and saw 7 night before and last 2 day of bow 12 doe not even a spike was around.

Alot of trail cutting & tree painting going on in that zone. That might have tipped them off the pumkin army is on its way.

i'm not far from you. still going strong, fighting and pushing still.
in 65, R+R is right. all the guys cutting, placing tacks, and the tons of corn being dumped in there has them on high alert.
it's all going on at night now.

We have own 37 acres in Egg Harbor Township, with 75 posted. My wife feeds the deer behind the house and we can watch them in the morning and evening. From a month back we were seeing as many as 8 deer at a time. Several bucks with a real nice 8 pointer. Nobody has access to these deer but us, but by this weekend we saw none.
It is that time of year. the deer go nocturnial ant that is that. It has nothing to do with pressure, they just do.
This is my opinion.

went mout this mornin shot 2 geese and drake mallard put 10 ga. away got muzzle loader out had 3 bucks fighting or playing with antlers only one i saw was a heafty spike w possible potential hoping the other was the 8 pointer something spoked them that was that total of 9 deer in 3 to 3 1/2 hrs 2 geese 1 duck im o k with that it was great just being outside on gods white earth for now still couple weeks left to put some meat in freezer
