I HAD ONE STOLEN IN ZONE 21. IT WAS LAG BOLTED TO A TREE 20 FT OF THE GROUND AND FILLED WITH 150LBS OF CORN. I INGRAVED MY INITIALS AND DOB ON THE FEEDER AND LET FISH AND GAME KNOW, HOPEFULLY THEY WILL CATCH THEM. ITS A SHAME YOU CANT LEAVE STUFF IN THE WOODS WITHOUT OTHER HUNTERS STEALING OR DAMAGING IT.

The feeder worked good for me and i still have another one up. Killed many deer over it. I have it throwing ten pounds of corn a day which seems to work well. I only have to fill twice a month.

I would not leave a feeder out on public land. With the way money is now, It makes even honest people think twice:mad:. Very unfortunate.

also keep in mind that putting a feeder up now will scare the deer for a bit..It takes time for them to get used to it..they should be put up in the winter months and let them get used to it....at least thats my experience...

I think it all depends on the area! We put one up Friday afternoon before opening day with 50 lbs of corn & 10 lbs of Bucker-up in it and they ate all of it that night so Sun. we had to refill for Mon.

your feeder sprinkles 60 lbs of feed a day? wow... why have one if it dumps out all of your bait in one day? just throw 60 lbs on the ground yourself every day....the idea is to just have enough come out to keep them coming back...and less time for you to be in the woods leaving your scent behind and pushing deer around....you can turn it down some so that you use less corn...sometimes they are like a dog and eat everything, the more you put out the more they eat...

Also I had my feeder putting out bait at noon everyday before the season...I had my camera on it and it took some good pictures...I changed it so it went off at 8am and 4 pm....the deer got spooked!! i have pictures of them looking up at the feeder when they decided to come back into it...and I lost deer to that feeder..some never came back....anything new introduced into their could spook them...especially something like a feeder that makes a loud noise when it goes off...I know they get used to them and come a running to the noise in time but it might takle longer than you think and I dont know about you but im not willing to ruin the rest of my season at a stand if it does spook them...the safest thing to do is set it up before the season...

Bought one of those stump feeders and put 100lbs of corn in it. Came back about 3 days later and found the corn all over the place and the stump was empty. Don't know what took the corn out of the feeder but I'm sorry that I bought this type of feeder. Again I filled it up and again I found the corn all around the feeder. The corn is now growing and no deer have touched it. Took the feeder out and tried to clean up the pile so I can put fresh bait there. As of now nothing is touching the bait and like you said the deer are eating acorns and it's tough. I eased up on the bait for now hoping things will change.
Try drilling a hole on each side of the feeder and strap the lid with a bungie nice and tight! Makesure you use a camo bunge with black hooks. In your area i hear there are wild boars running around or could be that bear have migrated to your area!!!! I strap my my gravity feeders that are 30 gallon trash cans!!!! They haven't been moved or turned over. Try putting in trail cam too and see if someone is messing with you!!!! Good luck

Hey I have a couple of those feeders also for sale..check out the 4 sale section....
Hey BuckBlaster do I know you? ha ha.... Yeah there are hogs in Franklinville and he would be having a problem with them trying to bait with anything, my friends do....But he isn't hunting there...I think he just had a bad dose of squirrels that week....They were like a person at the nickle slots who just hit "jackpot".....

Thanks for the info and I did put the feeder back and seen a spike and a couple of does eating the corn. The top is secured by two wing nuts and it's ancored with a spike down the middle. Finally they are eating the bait.
thanks again for the help.

Hey guys, I have a follow up question on automatic feeders that I'm hoping for some advice on. I have access to a small parcel in 5D. Not much land, so I'd like to hold the deer that pass through long enough for a shot. I put out a molasses/corn block before the season and action on the trail camera was heavy, but but it seems like they were hitting mostly at night.
Now that the season is in, I'm thinking of picking up a timed feeder - in your experience, will the deer adjust their schedules to the times corn is dispensed once they get acclimated? I've hunted hogs under feeders in Tx, and the deer start to show right after the feeders go off. Is this the same for our harder-hunted Eastern deer?
Thanks for any replies.

My opinion...yes in due time...may take a year..but I think at first you will see the does and smaller deer show up on schedule.....its hard to convince a big boy to come to a dinner bell...could happen tho....those things are very noisey...dont know if you ever heard one but they come to the noise after a while, so do the turkeys.....but now picture this..its the rut...dinner bell rings and here comes the does....who do you think will be behind checking? yip.....
