Yeah R&R is right. Try using goose flags. They work pritty well. Though we have had days where they've hurt us. I was also thinking about looking into those decoys where the wings spin. I've heard many good things about them esp. with duck hunting. I'm not sure that their even legal here in Pa. I don't think they are unfortunitly.

In PA you cannot use any electric motion decoys.

I think Big Feet has come out with a motion system for their decoys. Probly get them from Cabelas or your local waterfowl shop

The Flags are definately good.In South dakota they take Pin wheel lawn Ornaments and paint them Black. They put them throughout the spred. From a distance it looks like the whole rig is alive.they dont realize there mistake til they are Feet down.HRL:D

River Rat,I like the idea of the pin wheels painted black. Do you think it would work here? Is there much pressure in SD?

Now thats an awsome idea. I think I might try that this year!!!!! It's powered by wind and not electric so its legal.

the big foot motion system sucks. if you want motion grab some ghg fullbodies w/ motion stakes. they arent as durable as bigfoots but far surpass them when it comes to motion. they also make "flapper" decoys which run $80-100 a piece

Yes it works on the East Coast. It works in the Snow Goose Spread as well just paint some white.SD has little hunting pressure.Theres so much room and not so many Hunters. The mallards stool on cut grain fields real well there too,HRL:D
fun for one

if you want to add motion to your spread use the silliosock decoys, i use the fliers it works amazing, i have the mallard fliers, canada snow fliers and regular decoys, my main spread in 4 dozen shells, 6 dozen full bodies and 12 fliers. thats just my canada spread. i have 8 dozen silos 2 dozen sillosocks and 15 fliers for snows and just murder waterfowl.

Go as real as you can get.
I liked the earlier suggestion of Green Head Gear's full bodies with teh motion stakes as the basic set up. A couple dozen work for us.
Another couple dozen Shells fill in the spread. Then I have a couple spinning wing decoys (wind operated because I'm in PA.) My brother in law has a Kite in the shape of a Canada on an 18' pole simple lift it and lay it down and it looks like geese landing. Finally my other buddy has a goose flag. Just a few waves now and then, not too much, just enough to look like a goose is re-situating his feathers.
I have a bunch of rags decoys, but I don't like them. Most geese around here are residents, with a good portion being year round residents, so they are warey, and anything out of place will cause them to flare.
I also agree wuth the poster that said location is important.
We hunt corn fields mostly, but a few years ago we had permission to hunt a provate pond in the middle of a green pasture. gees wanted in that pond, we even had them try to land after we were out of our blinds, and the dogs were retreiving in the pond.

Look into Silosock decoys. Prairie wind decoys sells them and they look great. They are realistic and move good in the wind. Also look at their "flyers", adds realism to your spread.

I have some motion bases for the big feet and windlife heads that work nicely.
Email me and I'll make you a deal.
BTW Silouhette decoys add motion to the spread too.
