Hey guys,
I am a Penn State student and I just transferred up here my junior year. As you can prob guess I am looking for a spot up here to hunt. Any information I would appreciate. If you guys have property and are willing to hunt together I would have no problem posting, doing property management or what ever needs to be done. I am from Bucks county and a 3 hour drive is just to long for me when I have classes. I am 21 and have been in the woods since 10 and hunting since 12. I was brought up as a one shot one humane kill. I am not someone who disrespects the land or the deer them selves.
Thanks
-Mike

Hey Mike,

First - Go Penn State!

Second, there is a lot of state forest and game lands that is huntable all within about 30 minutes of you. If you head out Rt 26 South and find Charter Oak rd, there is a town called Neff's Mills in Huntingdon Cty Lot's of public land around there (State Forest etc...) My family has hunted for 50+ years out there. You gotta get in to the woods to find the deer though. After the first shot, they head from the farms to the mtns and hide. Watch the posted land, and some of the locals are "really" locals. The deer are there though... check it out on Mapquest.

I think you'll get some other responses too from people who grew up around there also.

Good luck!

NP,

If you find time, try to get fishing up there in the catch and release streams. With everything going on in town, I never made it out to fish in my 4 years at PSU.

This year it looks like some local spots in Doylestown for me (new born on the way).

Good luck!
