The study presently being done will end not this year, but the following year. So their is a lil less than 2 years left in it now. They will not release any of the data till the study is done and all the statistics are complied so they may draw conclusions and results. However, data and results from other studies are posted.
What I will tell you is what I do know of whitetail deer. An average home range of an adult buck is 1 sq mile. Thats is roughly 600 acres. His core range is usually around 200 acres. That is the area he spends most of his time. Studies all over the US show that a adult buck will leave his core territory and home range at least once during the rut seasons. He will make the excursion at least once out of his known area in search of receptive does. This is when they are the most vunerable. They are in unframiliar territory and in search of females.
