I agree. I only use the "Scent-a-way" by hunters specialties. It's cheap and seems to work pretty well. I bet the bank on wind direction everytime out so I try not to put alot of scents around my stand. Keep it natural.

LOL it's kool man no problem. I've heard a lot of good things about them. I personally haven't used them, but we're gettin them in and I might give them a try. I got a buddy that uses one I think its just a scent attractent (vanilla) and he said it works great. Even in the late season when deer are hard to find. I'll let you know how they work out if I get them.

I used border crossing deerherd in a bottle last year and had good results, but it does costs more than hunter specialties. I have one more bottle and I am going to give a it another try to see if I get the same reactions

The best cover scent is no scent at all. I try to keep my clothes clean using scentlock hunting clothes, boots and hat. Take the scent free shower in the morning using the scent free soap and making sure that I wash my hair what's left of it, then I'm off to the woods. It's like your invisible in the woods. The earth scents are good and I like them at times and the Escense of Fall is also a good cover scent. It's a hunters choice I quess and what works for them in their hunting area. :shoot:

Well I just picked up some boarder crossing scent!!!!! I decided to try the acorn in a stick, VS-1 stick, and the liquid VS-1. I'm going to try the acorn in a stick asap, but the VS-1 and the VS-1 liquid I'll be using later towards the rut. I am already somewhat impressed with the product Smells pritty good to me, but I'm not a deer so. Also saw corn, earth, apple, dominate buck, and herd in a stick. Oh yeah also liquid deer herd in a bottle. I can help, but feel like the comedian Jeff Dunham when I say in a stick. He's got that mexican pepper on a stick. If you have no clue what I'm talking about then I'm probably going to seem like a real weirdo:nuts:, but see the comedian Jeff Dunham (youtube) and his pepper on a stick puppet and you'll get it.

Sorry forgot to mention. The VS-1 (stick and liquid) is very expensive. Although this is really awsome!! This stuff is sooooo fresh. The liquid was taken directly from the doe last Thursday!!!!!! The stick is the same. Just contained into a wax stick (like a deodorant stick). The liquid I think is almost not even available anymore. You must put in a order so they can reserve it for you. Man this stuff his hot!!!

I started using Deer Heard last year with good results. It not only works as a cover scent, but it seems to bring deer (buck and doe) in and calm them down some. A few times several deer came in right under my stand and smelled the scent on the trees and bedded right down.

I put some deer herd in a bottle out as I was walking into to my stand the other day ,but when I got in my stand the bottle fell out of my of my coat .Before it got light I had deer under my stand snorting and they walked back the way I had put out the scent.By shooting time they had gone over the hill towards my truck.

Im using a strong apple scent that afreind gets from a manufacturere in valley forge. The stuff is made for the food industry and its bringing deer in from far away that turn and go right to the pad walking right over my scent trail from coming in without picking me up. I had and eight and small ten point last night right under the tree walking around without ever picking up my scent.

Yes, I did try it. I normally not a big scent user. The boarder crossing scents, VS1, really is strong. I have been around does that where in estrus and I'd have to say it is the closest smell coming to it so far IMO. I used it twice last season, but did not see any deer that day. It could of just been bad timing on my half. No results to really say. Should try it more. Otherwise if I was a rutting buck I'd come to that scent:D
