ive been hunting there for25 years and trapped fox there years ago. its starting to get a little crowded .the pheasant field they put in off piney hollow road was all oak trees at one time it was killer bow spot till they dozed it. they should fertilize it and plant clover or something for deer .do you think?

we use to drive a lot of that woods with cedarbrook gun club. we got alot of nice deer in there. dad and i both got 9pt one week in zone 65, back in the late 90's. some very nice woods in there. sometime along the ac exp on stand you would see 30 or 40 deer on one stand. they were the days. bb

I hunted a bit a few years ago when I worked in that area. Mainly near the State Range and it was quite crowded. White Oaks WMA wasn't nearly as crowded but there aren't many roads or cut trails ( atleast at the time ). You had to make your ways around which I'm sure kept people out.

Last year guys that were hunting it had trouble with a few Antis. One guy even had the bolts removed out of the platform of his stand. They were replaced with wooden pegs. Luckily he knew about the other trouble and was checking his stand each time before entering otherwise who knows what the outcome might have been. Lots of problems with quads and dirt bikes too from what I understand.

Started hunting this area when moved and began hunting NJ. Had a locked treestand stolen there. If anyone sees a hunter walking through the woods with bolt cutters let me know. Did pull a 6 point out last year.

We saw 17 deer off the ACE road tonight.

Easy access public land = 'crowded' in Jersey. I have not hunted the week of 'gun' season for 8 years. I'de rather be out there with my bow or M/L, usually in a climbing stand. It goes out of the woods with me daily. If it's not there, it can't be stolen or messed with. [You're right - it is more of a problem, but what isn't in Jersey?]

I usually hunt with my brother in NY on his place.

I hunt it A LOT and have for over 25 years. It was real nice before they graded all the roads and took out the sand. Then you could only get down the roads with 4WD. Now you can get from Winslow to Piney Hollow quicker than using 73.

The swamp used to be the best now it just hit and miss over the entire piece. Set up a spot and just hope you don't see anyone else when you hunt it, or someone steals your stuff.

lots of dinks in there for the last few years if thats all you are looking for.

Small zone hard to hunt unless you know the private property owners, little less crowd there, then being on state land. and kids on 4 wheelers and dirt bikes are throught there alot on saturdays and evenings after school lets out.
