Took the day yesterday with the heat to finally walk a piece near work instead of bowhunt. It's in callin distance of that big pack I've toyed with for a couple years now. BEAUTIFUL PIECE! Definitely good for a few reds. Overgrown hay pastures with tight trails and small creek crossings. Creek with a few rats and some mink. Couple fields with LATE sweet corn still gettin hammered by coons. More deer fencing crawl unders and some coon trails run right into mud. Hedgerows with real tight trails. About a 1 acre pond......not a rat to be found:mad:

BUT, it's made to call. It's loaded with canines. Next to an area we call the "incubator". He raises birds, mostly quail for reintroduction. He hates the foxes and has no use for the yotes. In addition to the pack, he's got a lone blond and a mix that come through quite a bit. He shot off five foxes in five nights couple years back right at his quail pen. If I can post an aerial pic, i will. Simply beautiful.

Redneck,
not really a pond, more of a water retention pool. its only a couple feet deep. full of lillies and frogs. owner never saw a rat in it. the creek has a few, but it's rocky terrain. not the kind of banks for rats. I checked the pond for toilets. Nadda. nothin. I found a couple small holes directly into the side of the creek though. Only about two or three inches across though. Right at the waterline.

I'll email you a pic if you like. It's callin heaven.

Yeah, that block of timber is toward the rear and near the border of the 'incubator'.LOL. The pond is tough to see on the aerial, but if you click "birds eye view" as soon as you open the link, you will be just on the right side of the pond. The creek is off to the left on the edge of the timber line and it runs the whole length leading into the swamp. The deer fencing with the crawl unders surrounds the pastures to the right of the pond and around the pasture to the left and closer to the back of the property along the creek. Great trail right along that fence where it borders the creek. Only a couple feet between the fence and the creek.

what i love about if for calling is bein able to get to the edges of the timber quietly in that type of canine country.
