This is my fourth season as an archery hunter and I've hunted mostly on steep inclines at about 25-28' high with my climber and and have done pretty well killing deer on the uphill side. This year I've been doing more flatland hunting at around 25' high, I'm shooting a '08 Darton Pro3000 w/ 100 gr. Magnus Stinger Buzzcuts, I am not really getting any double lung shots and I'm wondering if 25' is to high or if anyone knows where I need to aim for an angle of about 75-85 degrees? Thanks, I really wanna shoot and find my first archery buck and have squared away first.

your height is plenty good but if i remember crrectly you wanna aim a bit higher or you can miss other side of deer or it may come out near belly and guts will clog your exit hole making it hard to track as all the blood will stay inside.just my 2 cents:) if you stop by one of the bow classes they show how the shot should b higher to like top 3rd of back

Best way is to practice from the height you are going to be shooting from. I generally shoot level 25yrds and out. Inside of 25yrds i aim lower on the body the closer it is to me sometimes aim at the ground below the lungs.

I hunt between 25-30' and never really had any problems. When you say 75-85 degrees the deer must be right under you...like 5 yards from the tree. That's a very hard angle from any height...Making a very hard shot to take out both lungs..I will usually let the deer get say 10 yards from the tree before I takemy shot and trace the back of the front leg up to the top third of the body. You do that youshouldnt have any problems.
