:thdown:anyone seen the new flashlights that came out maybe last year that spot the blood easier on the ground?WORTHLESS!!!!!!. I BOUGHT ONE THINKING YOUD SEE A TRAIL WITH NO PROBLEM. ya know this time of year when the wild blueberry bushes start to change color they look just like blood drops on the leaf. well tried it and it was easier to just touch the leaf to c if its wet the light made tracking worse in my opion.

I always wondered if they worked. We tracked one the other night that I was thinking the whole time if I had one of these it might be easier ... maybe not huh?

We've found that different color bulbs or lenses in your flashlight can make seeing blood easier.

I bought a flashlight that has a blue lense attachment that comes with it, all you need to do is when you need to use it just flip it over the bulb. I haven't had the chance to use it yet this year. I'll let you know!

I made up a small spray bottle with peroxide and yellow food coloring. When sprayed on leaves and or ground if it hits any blood, it'll foam up and turn to a orange color. It helped us refind the blood trail of a deer that my uncle shot acouple years ago:thup:

to me, nothing beats the coleman propane lantern.
blood is easy to see, propane is cheaper then batteries, and your carring a handwarmer.
everyone that goes tracking with me and a real lantern goes out and buys one.

The best is any bright white light. Even those new LED lights hurt your eyes on long track jobs. I have two hand held spot lights I carry in my pack when tracking. They only last about a 1/2 hour a piece but they light up the ground! I'll have to look into the lanterns, Thanx:thup: Nothing beats those old police issue rechargable Mag lights. They were worthy!

I like the Coleman lantern. Also good for cleaning your deer in the dark.
