Convention was a good time. Seemed like nice turnout.

The drive up was beautiful...really nice country and a reminder I'm not quite in North North Jersey....sorta.

Got what I wanted, still need a couple things I'll hopefully pick up at the next show down South.

i saw a post on t-man about it. not sure where it's at, but if your saying it's north, it must really be north for me.
i don't think i need anything, but would like to add 6 or 12 160's this year. maybe another cage or two. but really, i don't need a thing.
last time i made snares, i made about 250. so i'm good this year.
newt was gona be there. interesting guy, lol.

i've been looking at my new ground on google. if it still looks like the picture, it should be great piece.
hey shamus, got time to show me around on a sunday? or it can wait till after deer is over. not a problem. i was going to hit your place late febuary or early march.

Yeah UB, it's up there alright. Hour and 10 minutes North of me! Skyland for sure. Talked to Newt for a couple minutes and he said it was like three hours for him.

Eric Space (name?) was there. He seemed to make a pretty nice mink snare. He was doing a couple demos, but I didnt stick around. I was outta there by noon. I did grab some 110s and a couple boxes and a few loose things for snares. A good time all in all.

eric builds those brick snares.
my buddy started running that style down here a few years ago, he said he'd never run without them now.
i think chris buys those mink and puts a snare on them for the picture. :D

I didnt see a brick setup. I assume he's using a support twisted off the brick and attaching the snare to the brick as an anchor/drowner??

yes.
short snare, wired to the brick. with the tag end of the tie wire being the support. it makes a anchor, fence, and drowner in one. swivel has to work.
a little bird told me they will pull down foot snared coon, if deep water is close.
i think i may make a few this year. i have the perfect bridge for them. i could never get a support wire or anchor there, all concrete. but the brick works. it's a small, three inch wide run way. also a couple bottom edge sets right there also. if i can keep the leaves out of them. or stiks white geese. ;)

Redneck,
Didnt notice a zoo...only museum, but that's not to say I didnt miss it. I drove right past the parking too, so who knows.

I got a call to work the night of Nov. 1, but I'm still gonna try and make it down that way first thing in the am. Still need a fleshing knife and maybe a beam if I see one reasonable, or I'll fabricate my own. But I got alot on my plate right now as is. I'd like to see that howler you were talking about. may have landed a place close to that big pack where I could call them...keepin my fingers crossed. I was gonna just try and take pics of them once the leafs are down, but I'd love to actually hunt them off the preserve.
