Nice buck!
Maybe you should have waited for that buck instead of the one you just shot!!!!!
Looks like a nice one
Great buck, permit bow is coming up, hope he stays around for you.

Gonna be a long wait till permit bow!
Always a tough call to loose that arrow early in the season. Congrats on the deer taken, and now youve got something more to look forward to...
Target that big boy as long as you know he's still there. I've spent seasons passing on deer waiting for a certain one, and have no regrets of those seasons even when I never came close to connecting on the target.
I'm looking for a camera now with a realy good zoom lens. Getting pics of some of the 2 1/2 year olds is plenty good for me. Wait on the big boy if you dont need the venison now...you wont regret it;)

Choices, Choices .... I'd rather wait it out knowing that quality deer are around. It is tough though.

if you are hunting a zone with unlimited doe then wait out the slammer and kill all the doe you want.

Always seems to happen that way. Most important thing is to be happy with the one you got. At least in NJ you will have other opportunities to take him as you will not be limited to only 1 buck per year like us here in PA.
One thing you will always here if you hunt in areas where there are big deer such as in the midwest is that you can never kill a big one if you shoot a small one. Have to let some of those go buy to get the cracks at the big boys.
Not saying you shot a small one as your first is a terrific buck - hang in there now and be patient and maybe you get another chance at this one.

its a leap of faith to let a nice two and a half year old buck go but in the long run it will pay off if you want a big buck you must one pay attention to the wind. two pass on 120" bucks. three be patient or get verry lucky. four and most important you must be able to score a bucks rack in a matter of seconds to within five inches of the bucks score between 130" and 140" before you shoot anything bigger prey and shoot.
