I'm currently using a PSE Nova w/ Carbon Express CX300 arrows & Muzzy 4-blade 90 gr. broadheads. This combo has been clocked at 290 fps [pulling 65-70 lbs] and my question is whether or not this is to light a broadhead to be shooting? It shoots accurately, good groups and shoots relatively flat, which is why I wanted to go with the 90 gr. tip to start with. However, I have been told that this is to light a broadhead to shoot deer with and I have lost a nice buck a few years back after tracking for about three hours, despite looking like a good location on the hit.

My concern in going to a heavier broadhead is an arrow that arcs or arches in flight rather than shooting flat. Looking for any thoughts or ideas in changing the set-up. I realize that it's getting late but I had arthroscopic surgery on my right shoulder over the summer and am just getting back into a position where I can shoot again.

Shoots straight and groups good, leave it alone. No need to mess with what's working for you. P.S. There is no such thing as too light a braod head when it goes straight through the lungs at 20 yards. Dead is dead! Why you lost the deer years ago could be a variety of reasons just shoot straight and enjoy your hunt.

...it can get very technical. I prefer to maximize my penetration as much as possible. But if your shootin tight accurate groups...any compound out there with a sharp broadhead placed accurately in the lungs will do! ..Check out this article though below.
