Who else here on the forum shoots RAGE broadheads?
Just curious! I have tried JUST about every broadhead on the market!
The 2 blade Rage broadhead is bad A@# with a huge 2 1/2" entry hole... Never mind the exit hole it's a real mess as you can see...

this is my first year I have not had a chance to shoot them yet. That is some massive damage there. Looks like they gut the deer for you.

LOL yeah what njbowhunter said. Literally! I dunno about them though. I had a buddy use them last year. He made a great double lung on an 8 ptr. Couldn't find the deer. Ended up finding it 200yrds 2 days later where he stopped his search. I dunno. I guess it's just me. I get weary of those stories. I use montec G5's in 100g and never had a problem. I guess don't fix something unless it's broke. But man that is a nasty exit hole.

I havent been able to not find a deer that I shot yet! Most all shots I have taken have been lung shots and they ran no further than 20-30 yds.... Massive blood trails as you can see.
The flight of a rage broadhead is like shooting a practice tip... I switched a couple years ago and they are awesome for the price....

GOT RAGE!!!
lol

Yes infact I do lol!! We've got a few here at the shop. The packs also have the free practice broadhead. I think I might (might!!!) buy some and just give them a try. We'll see

I switched over to them last year and put 4 deer in the freezer. Not one of them ran more than 30 yds. The Buck ran the full 30 before dropping! The Doe didn't make it far at all. One dropped right in it's tracks! I used to shoot Nap Spitfire and never had a problem with them either.

been thinking of trying them, targets are getting real expensive shooting fixed blades. seems the mechanicals today are made a lot better then years past.

They come with a practice tip so its just like shooting the actual broadhead.
You don't have to worry about them not opening, as soon as the tip penetrates the skin the blades open guaranteed. That is no crap!
unlike the other mechanical types.

I noticed on the feedback that people are complaining about them opening up in the quiver! But did you notice that everyone who actually harvested a deer talks about the quick hard hitting force and the massive entry and exit holes?
Rage broadheads are not for everyone I guess! Well those who are not willing to make change that is, but it sure was time for me to get away from those old school broadheads...

A good friend of mine will not make the switch to any mechanical at all! He's just one of those guys that when something works why change! Now the reason I changed was: I used to shoot Muzzy's and one day I noticed that the arrow started to barrel roll, when I saw that I had to try something, so I started reading and went with the Nap Spitfire in 100 gr. After that I started putting meat in the freezer with no problema at all! I just switched over to the Rage last year and never had a problem with the four deer I shot. So, I'm sticking with them! If I start to have problems with them then I'll go back to the Spitfires!

I wouldn't put anyone down for NOT using them! What ever you have the confidence with by all means use them!! We all know that your confidence with something is 75% of the battle!
Shoot Straight! & Good Luck this season!

Thats some good eatin right there. Whether intentional or not we've all shot a deer that was smaller/younger than expected.
Low light, fog, cloud cover...in those conditions you wont see those spots at 20 yards or more BUT still be 100% sure of your target(deer).

I'll be picking up some Rage heads this week. They earned "a shot" in my quiver.

Let me know how you make out Nick! I think you'll like those Rage heads Nick! I also always try to get as close to a broadside shot as possible but have taken shots that weren't and these heads still got it done!

I thought we had avoided this! :)

Oh so close.

Anyways, lets keep on topic here. Opinions are like you know what and we all have them and sharing those opinions is what we are here for, but if you are going to share them, do it in a tactful way. If that isn't possible, just move on ... for my sake :)

I'd like to think we are here for conversation and discussion, not for bickering and finger pointing. I'm sure each and everyone of us here has bigger problems than the size of that deer.

has anyone shot expandables through the mesh on a ground blind? if so do they open on the mesh or do they go right through it? any input will be appreciated!

Well I am now 2 for 2 with rage and I hate to admit it but both shots were not on target hit both deer back far. The rage head just rips such a nasty hole Both deer were recovered. I am a satisfied customer

I haven't tried shooting thru mesh but I would imagine that they might open going thru the mesh. I'd try it first before you shoot at a deer. Test it out and let us know your findings.

My cousin harvested a 238 lb. 135" 8 pt. (weighed before field dressing) in PA on 10/29 with a rage 2 blade, put a 4 inch hole in the buck, he went 40 yards and dropped. He clipped both lungs and the heart. He switched to the Rage this year after losing numerous deer over the years with lesser cut fixed blades. He'll be sticking with the rage.

hey guys this was my second season with RAGE in my quiver. Ive used alot of heads deer hunting as well as bear hunting and these heads are awesome like the one guy said tracking is like following someone with a red paint can. I usually get them at dicks or tips hardware they always have them. Good luck !

I use the three blades & like em. My friend swears by the two blades, he has killed 2 bucks in Kansas the last two years with them. Both dear were over 250#s 150 class deer.

I recently tore my rotator cuff and have to have surgery right before hunting season starts and have to use a crossbow this season...has anyone tried the rage with a crossbow? I am looking to get the barnett predator and was wondering how the rage handles at high speeds.

I tore my Rotator cuff couple years back, 4 weeks after the surgery I was pulling the bow back at 70lbs and took a deer opening day from the ground. My surgery was severe too.. Stick with the rehab and you will be bowhunting in 4/6 weeks. Maybe not climbing trees or lifting deer onto the tailgate, but you should have the ability to draw a bow!
