decided to check out woods zone 65 tonight. knowing season dont start there till oct3 tried to take a walk last night but mosquitos were just too brutal even with spray.so i thought up idea...hhhhhmmmm..i brought the turkey blind. the bastards chased me all the way to where i wanted to sit. being the pop up dog blind i opened it up and chased bugs away then got in.not much came by but half hour before dark had a 4 pt walk out at 15 yrds.tried to video with phone but cant see it. brought a beach chair for comfort and whatta ya know quite comfy and no bugs.i think this is a plus in tools to scouting in the warmth.and he was still solid velvet:rolleyes:

if it only had a floor. i'd pull it up the tree with me. this week may slow them down a little. i'm headed out tonight to swap a stand.

I'm headed out tonight to set the new camera up. Hope to have some good pictures before the weekend.

swapping one stand out tonight. this one has been there for three years, time to pull it, replace it and rework the old stand.
i have to put a stand back in there. it's on a very secluded bean field. 150 yards away is a big area of CRP. to my back is a section of selective cut hardwoods. then to the right has a cedar swamp about 100 yards away.
i see deer in there every hour of the hunt.

might release the quail i was raising tonight, if i have time. but deer stuff first.:thup:

i havent gotten a chigger or tick so far but i know my ares i hunt already so i walk main trails and woods real slow as to not spook the deer where i hunt and just look for big tracks and deer walking the roads.i did sit in a field last night in my blind sprayed up and so far so good.the spray lou sells at sportmansoutpost (permanone) works wonders and rubber boots.but im sure ill get hit eventually being anxious lol
