as long as there are coon, i will go for them, well, until the price gets to $5. the $12 average wasn't bad last year. there is tons of speculation about price this year.
i try and get a good mix of sets. 60 little k9 snares gets boring, with no little k9's.
i really wish we had more pond rats. and i'm hoping a blind mink stumbles into one of my snares or 110's

the coon all gone there are none left any where you boys need to key on the red fox and not waste gas. and I hear weasel is going to be big $$$$$ this year so you can go after them to:)

if you look real hard you can see the coon hiding under the log.
I think I have 6 to 10 trappers all with in 5 miles of me and most with in 3 miles. and I hear a few more will be in the class this fall LOL. but we all get along and thank God different phases of experience LOL But most of them are good.
Mud you ready for the calls.

Redneck...Oh I'm ready for the calling alright. I've got those few reds right around the house here terrorizing my kids birds and I heard a grey or color phase moved into the one spot I cleared a coule reds out for the farmer. He wants the grey gone too....it's killin his ducks at a blazing rate, but I'm puting him off as long as I can. They're a novelty in these parts...its the reds that are old hat. I saw 8 different ones the other night at work in that one night. One had caught a baby possum and was carrying it aongside the road. Never saw that before.
And I broke down today actually and picked up a foxpro....wanted one for the longest time, but wouldnt bite. Picked up three extra shifts this week and finally went for it. Now i gotta figure out the fleshing-boarding thing LOL.

Just got around to taking it out.....oh boy...I like. Sorry redneck. I'll know a little more in the next few days.
I was using the JS cassettes until this last season. I went to the wireless pm and it was good, but it just didnt have the flexibility I wanted. Up here I can hunt the same properties a few times due to the amount of dogs we see...but I wanted different sounds. The pm required so many different sound cards, it was a bit much. If you wanted a couple sounds, they were usually on different 20$ cards. I think this is gonna give me a lot more flexibility. I'l have a better idea in the next couple of days. If I get the itch, I may even try and take it out with the camera.

Heard a lot of good things about the foxpro callers. Which model did you get?

Their "lower end" LOL. The fx3.....32 storable sounds..remote function. external jack to plug in an mp3 or Ipod which will broadcast through the foxpro unit if you choose. Gonna get online in a bit and change some of the sounds to more regional types. It sounds great and I cant believe the volume and clarity for the size of that little thing. I wanna pull out the PM4 and put em side by side and compare the two. But it's the flexibility that I like. 32 sounds at your figertips is pretty convenient.

Yeah that is what I thought you was goung to say. now I got to save for the foxpro. I was looking Denis kirks since I started out with his tapes many moon ago the coon puppies still make the coon go nuts. but foxpro seems to get the best review of on predators

I heard some where you can get remanufactured foxpro calls cheap "er".
I liked the fx3. Use it for a while and if you want something bigger or louder sell it later.

here in the north east we really do not need the top of the line as far as reach out power. Mud I think you are going to run that thing on half or lower. what is the watts on that unit? 32 sounds shucks up till 3 years ago we was killin fox using pup distress and 4 mouth calls LOL then every one got into it. I was use to cops stopping me on the 1st night at least 3 times and ask what I was doing last year and the year before they told me callers was every where LOL

Not sure on the watts redneck, but I think it's got more volume than I'll ever need up here. In the house, it about blew my eardrums out and I dont think I had it anywhere near maxd out.
You like the pup distress for fox? I listened to it tonight online, but wasnt sure. All my calling has been with either rodent distress or bird distress type calls for the reds so far.

grey fox pup distress is what pulled three coyotes in for me last year.
but they sat down at 50 yards and listened to the tape. when the tape ended, they left. i was in a stand and didn't want to call.
i have always used rabbit distress, rodent distress, rabbit and fox pup distress overlapped, and grey fox pup distress.
i need to learn the big dogs now.

Yeah mud red pup distress, was my one go to for reds then pheasent on wma's, I also have a mouth call that can make a injured sound. started to see it slipping a few years ago when the yotes started to show. the reds would come right in now they stick to the thick stuff. keep it low then take it up and then back down.
