Thanks GSBB.
First time I butchered a deer in September. The yellowjackets were swarming.
I'll probably hunt around here again one evening after work next week. Then it's upstate for the regular archery season. With meat in the freezer, I think I'll hold out up there for a good buck. ;)

Meat in the freezer always takes the pressure of me when hunting for antlers.:)

I have another 5D tag, a 5C tag and a 3B tag for does. However, I think I'll pass on the does on the regular season opener. See what materializes if I don't disturb the woods.
Then again, I might be tempted by a nice meaty doe!!! :D

I think I am going to try to head out first time this season on sat afternoon if the rain stops. Hunting an area where I won't be hunting opening day of real bow season because I hope I surprise a buck on his way back to his bed that morning:D
