Yep, got 2 myself on Thursday. We had a flock of 6 come in and got 4 out of the 6. I know we peppered the 5th, but somehow he flew away. Suxs cause I know he's got to be hurting.

Hunting the resident season is very hard. You better either have water or a field that they are coming to regularly. Resident season is difficult cause your tring to hunt geese that know the area and have a stricked routen.

Chipmunk,

Damn how did you get that many bands!!!!! The only time I hear of people getting that many bands are if there is a study going on in the area and that flock of birds that all got banded didn't leave yet. They basically get pinballed around from hunting spreads to hunting spreads. I've been goose hunting for 8 years and I've only gotten 2 bands. Funny though my first goose I got was a banded bird. He was from CM NJ. Talk about beginners luck there! lol

Wow sounds like you da man with the spot!!!! Park pond gezzz lucky dog! lol. Hmmm so 2 bands in 8 years isen't that bad. I've always wondered how close I came to shooting a banded bird. Or which one in that flock might have a band. We've even just for fun pulled up to the field with them in it and got out the spotting scope to see out of curiousity if any had bands. Whats your farthest away bird? The second band I got the bird was from an area close to Quebec. Ever see any double banded birds in Nj? How about any birds with neck bands? I remember years ago as a kid going to the park and seeing birds with neck bands and now I never see any ever!!!

Dropped 7 Birds, 4 bands. Interesting thing is...all 4 were banded in Tuckahoe and killed in Swainton! 1 was banded in 2003. They were certainly "Residents"!:D By the way...This is a great site and I love it. I hunt waterfowl and fur as well as fish and hope to post some pics this season.
