All of the Parker crossbows have excellent performance. It's a choice of the features that meet your requirements. You should visit the Owl's Nest, your local Parker dealer, to discuss what is best for you. Here is the 2009 Parker Crossbow WEB site:

PS I have a Parker crossbow that is extremely accurate. It will put every bolt in the same hole at 20 yards and beyond. I went to my local dealer, Tip's Hardware, to make my selection. I picked my model because it was comfortable to shoulder. Some of the models felt front heavy. I am really pleased with my choice.

I've heard a lot of good things about Parker crossbows. A few models off the top of my head I can think of are the buckblaster and the cyclone. The cyclone is a pretty wicked looking crossbow.

My friend just got a Parker Tornado. He said it is very accurate. And fast too.

I just picked up a Barnett Predator. Also very narrow at only 22" wide and 19" cocked. I haven't shot it yet. I plan on sighting it in in the next couple days.

But Parker xbow are suppose to be pretty good.

PARKER TORNADO is absolutley deadly. looked at cyclone, could see payin another 100 bucks for expandable stock and a couple more feet per second as my tornado is plenty fast.

I have a Tornado....really like it...accurate...fast...well balanced...so many of the crossbows are front heavy...particularly the compound variety....bought mine at L & H in Waretown....from now on, will go to Tips Hardware in West Creek...the bow tech (Darrell) who was at L & H has gone back to Tips....

for you emtystringer....go see Jim at the Owls Nest on 519......

I, too, have been asking about which cross bow to buy. My friend just bought a Parker and took it hunting. He was starring at an eight point buck when something happened to the bow (something broke on it). Sorry I'm not sure what happened to it so I called him to give details on this thread but wasn't able to get him on the phone. He took the Xbow back, and (I think) they corrected the problem (not sure what they did). Then it happened a second time while hunting. Long story short, he got his money back. As soon as I find out what happened, I'll come back to ya. It could had been a flute on that particular bow, like buying a lemon....it doesn't necessarily mean all Parkers will have a problem (especially by the threads above). However, based on his experience, I decided to stay away from a Parker. Sorry to all you Parker lovers, but this is all I know and wanted to share it.

OK here are the details. My friend bought a Parker Cyclone. While pulling back (starring at a buck, mind ya) the string and cable came apart. and cracked the limbs. He took the Xbow back. They put a whole new front on it. A second time while hunting and spotting a 6 point buck, the new strip and cable broke, cracking the limbs. He took it back and they gave him a differnt model, the Torando. He did get some money back due to the different in price. He said he likes the Torando althought he hasn't shot anything with it yet. This is all I know and wanted to share with you what he told me.

I have a Parker cyclone, its great. I took it deer hunting on October. First shot, first kill. 35 yard shot, blew thru the deer and burried in the ground. Very accurate, light and I like the adjustable stock. I won't hunt with a bow again. The buck was a heavy rack 6 pt, no brow tines. It dressed out at 150 pounds. Buy the cyclone, you won't be disappointed

My brother shots a cyclone loves it.only problem is you have to discharge the bolt to relieve the limbs.
I shot a bow tech stryker & don't have that issue.
On the other hand i get more gradification with my compound.I will switch back to compound.Maybe use xgun late winter season.

I bought a parker hurricane at the harrisburg sports show. The rep from parker was there and answered alot of questions. The bow has a ife time guarantee and the hurricane is 175 lb draw and shoots at over 300 ft per second. The rep did tell me to use a combination of 525 gram arrow and broadhead for better results. The red hot has a carbon arrow at 425 gram and a broadhead at 100 gram totaling 525 grams. My friend and I were stopping wild pigs in Florida and the arrow was going right thru the shoulder. These crossbows are awesome.
My Hurricane came with a scope and quiver and I paid $469.00 complete. I just bought a plano stingray hard case at Dicks for $59.00. Great bow. My friend has a tornado also made by Parker.

The Parker Red Hots are 310 grains (advertised weight) without a broadhead. Minimum arrow weight for Parkers is 400 grains, so you'd exceed the minimum with a 100-grain broadhead. Why the rep told you 525 grains is a mystery to me. I shoot the Red Hots out of a Tornado with a 100 grain broadhead and have had no problems. Unfortunately, Parker does not make the Hurricane anymore, that's why you got it so reasonably. That, and the fact that you bought it at the Harrisburg show. There are usually some good deals to be had there. Best of luck with it.

I bought a Parker Tornado at cabelas. I shot three deer with it this year. all passthroughs including a high spine which clipped half the spine and the bolt still buried into the fletching.

Parker Tornado feels so well balanced. The cycone is a might faster but the Tornado feels perfect for me. Two of my other buddies also bought after trying mine. One of them sold his ten point for the tornado even after bustin gme for buying a "parker bow".

Parker will stand behind their bows also. Trust me.

Had the same issue with my Tornado. It happened one time while I was sighting it in at the shop. Make sure that you're pulling the string back all the way. If you're sure you are, take it back to a Parker dealer and have a tech look at it. This is definitely not a problem you want when you are hunting.

Great xBow just keep your fingers out of the way! I can hit anything I see w/ mine but don't forget before you let one fly, repeat to yourself FINGERS!!
I made that mistake and it smarts, is bloody and only takes once for you to remember. I'm sure others have made the same mistake, but I'll admit it to save you the PAIN.

i know its not parker but i got an early 2ks horton yukon 150sl. even at 150 it kills and is accurate to 30 yards with a single dot scope i just compensate for disance after shooting it for a long time. i got it for a hundred bucks used and it got me into the woods. i had no hunting experience prior to that i just wanted to try. ever since the first deer with that thing ive been hooked and got thousands upon thousands into the sport now. i just graduated to my first compound to shoot and own a 2011 hoyt turbo hawk!!! sweet bow for the price but what i am really trying to say is a bow or x bow is what you make of it to an extent. those crazy 400fps ones are bad ass but almost not a challenge (okay guys cant wait to see the response on that)!

my dad bought a parker tornado in the begining of the seasson and he loves it , we were looking at the tornado or the cyclone and in my opinion the tornado feels so much better as well to him so he picked it up and saved a few dollars with in 10 min at 30 yards we were haveing grouping the size of a dime he has killed 3 dear this year and the last 1 was 53 yards useing the redhot bolts and reaper broad heads and she only ran 35 yards leaveing a blood trail the width of a quad the full 35 yards but story is parker xbows are worth the money

Parkers are awesome. Buckhorn, take it to your local dealer. I had a problem with my safety lever sticking(felt like a burr) when cocked straight out of the box. I took it to my local dealer Short's Marine(who I did not buy it from) and Kelly took it apart while I waited, looked it over, shot it, called Parker, and Parker shipped a new trigger assembly out and Kelly installed it for free under their lifetime warranty. We shot it through the chrono and it shot 323fps and 324fps with Red Hot's and 100gr tips. Do not believe all the super high fps hype, as the manufacturers are shooting highly modified arrows/bolts at super light weights(almost dryfire) to get their inflated numbers. Another Cyclone set up the same as mine shot 327fps. Stryker(Strykeforce) will not shoot 400fps neither will the Tac15 as both have been shot through that chrono, and the fastest bow shot through it has been Kelly's personal Mattews at 379fps shooting at almost dryfire weight. If you have a multi dot reticle and know the fps, you can input the data into Parkers ADC program and it will tell you the actual yardage the other pins are set for. The Cyclone is nice, because I have both an 11 and 7yr old daughter who shoot it too and the stock is adjustable to fit them, or in winter with multiple layers and a heavy coat you can shorten it. The adjustable cheek peice is a nice addition too, but it comes black, so so camo paint did the trick. You can't go wrong with any of the top bows on the market, it is all a matter of personal choice, what feels comfortable, and what will give you confidence to make quick, clean, ethical kills in the field. Spending the extra $$ on the cyclone was an obvious choice for me with 2 young girls who are interested in hunting and shooting. I am shooting Spitfire Maxx 100gr with great success for heads. Good luck and Merry Christmas to all.

i would look into parker cross bow alittle, when i was on a archery hunt in ohio, one of the guys was walking to his tree stand with his bow loaded, and he heard a cracking noise the limb just broke, so i googled it and there have been a few having the same problem. it was a parker tornado, so i would do some research before you buy.
