but wanted to know if she could go next friday night.

That is awesone:thup: Been trying to get my little ones interested, but its a slow go and I don't want to push it. They do a little nature hike on the days I hang the stands and take them down...not alot of patience yet:D

Thats great to see. My little ones 4 and 7 want to go but no patience yet. Took my 7 year old spring turkey. Sat him in the blind. He played with the zipper on the blind, sticks on the ground and just about anything else he could find. I hope he can calm down soon would love to teach him, but he gets board to fast.

That looks like my stand. Here's my 6 year old ascending my stand. He can't sit still long enough for deer hunting yet but I think we'll get that squirrel this year.

Great stuff taking kids! I took my Daughter out when she was 8, she was hooked. She wanted her license NOW, LOL! I took her when she turned 10...her very first day she hunted she shot a doe at ...get this...20yds. I didnt think she hit it..but was happy she shot...I went to get her out of the stand about 15 minutes before dark...spooked a deer and she said...dad...you ruined my shot..I was going to shot that deer again..I said lets go get your arrow not thinking she actually shot the deer:eek:...she got down took me to where the deer layed done...in stickers and there was blood..I apologized to her and unfortunately we never did find the deer...but she shot one the first time she had the chance....awesome day that was....she helps track deer with me and drives with the gang I hunt with...cant beat the time I get to do that with her...every chance I get!

Memories like this should be cherished. My oldest daughter used to go out with me scouting, setting up stands and just walking in the woods. She even grunted a few in for me in late bow season. She did this for about 6 years from 3-9yr old. Now she is away in college but it seems like just last season that we walked together in the woods. I remember cooking up deer on the grill and her eating 2-3 tenderloin steaks. Once she was about 10-12 and was told it was deer steaks we were eating everything changed. She is still interested in bow shooting but our days as hunting partners are gone.
So enjoy these times they may not last! Hopefully for you they will.

This is exactly how I got my son started into Archery! When he was 6 I use to take him with me and he loved being out there & most of the time he spotted the Deer coming in before I did! He is now 12 and has his own stand and Bow and is a pretty good hunter! He got his first deer last year in Pa's mentored hunt that they started a few years ago!
I think that what you are doing is absolutely wonderful and a big help to keep the hunting going with the younger generation! As hunters this is a great thing to do!
