Does anyone know what the law is on using crossbow in PA? Has the proposed change been approved to restrict their use to the first 2 weeks of the bow season? The PGC website still shows them as being legal for all of bow season as well as for the 2 day bow bear hunt. It doesn't seem right that they would change the law after they began selling the 2009 licenses.

As far as I know and I've heard it's still crossbows legal throughout the whole season.

That's what I was thinking but a retired WCO who lives near my camp said that the 2 week restriction had passed?? I plan on calling the commission this week prior to purchasing my licenses.

Checked with PGC today. They still are not 100% sure about the rules but it looks like the crossbow will be legal for all bow hunting seasons. The 8th spot on the board has been filled and the guy who was appointed is against the restriction. Therefore, the vote should be 4-4 which will kill the proposal. They are hoping to have a meeting sometime in Sept. to take the final vote.:)

I read there was a push to restict it but this is what the pagc site says.
