We went today. It was pritty cool. I wish their was a schedual for the demos. We checked out all the dealers. Talked the talk you know. Looked for a good buyer. My brother and I are planing on making war with coons this season. We where all told do it early. The only problem is neither of us really know how to tan the pelts and we really don't "exactly" know how to flesh them. This presents a problem. Since if we don't do either of that stuff we have to sell them grease or in the green. This will significantly lower the pay that we'll get per pelt. We have acess to A LOT of land to trap which is LOADED and I mean LOADED with coon. So I might be having to learn all this fleshing and tanning stuff soon. Seems like a lot of work. But if the payout is going to be worth it I'll consider it.

The price shouldn't drop that much for skins that are not fleshed and strched. Usually only a dollar or two per hide. Just skin them, roll them up, bag them and freeze them. If you go to a buyer with enough good pelts he's not gonna jerk you around. Get some numbers in the freezer and you shouldn't have a problem. When we are coon hunting and not trapping we drop them off whole. we don't skin them or anything and we still get top dollar because of the quanity we haul in each season.

Thanks man. One of the guys I talked to said he would do 12-14$ green and 20$ tanned. Is that a good price? I really want to get my money worth and not get screwed like I hear happening a lot. Or if anybody knows of a good onest buyer let me know please.
