LOL Dude I'm a tick magnet I know what your saying! LOL I hope you don't have a full head of thick hair otherwise just take a gander around your pants and jacket while in the stand and the deer movement is nill. Thats the best advice for dealing with ticks without using repelants. Now, supposibly their is a clothing that can repel them or is it just skeeters I dunno look into it.

I use stuff I got at dicks. Cant remember the name but its odorless and lasts for weeks. I spray it 3 days before opening day then hang my cloths outside for those 3 days.

Never had any real issuses.

Coulston's Duranon Tick repellent. Available at most hunting/archery/sporting goods shops. It comes in a spray can with a yellow label and a green cap.

Use as above post.

I switched from No Stinkin Ticks to the Coulston's product last year. It worked great. I hunted practically everyday of the pa bow season and didn't have a single tick on me. I just bought another can of it this morning! $7.99 from a local shop. I would not go back to the other brand because I was not happy with the "scent free" results. The Coulston's is truly "scent free" just follow the instructions listed on can.

This year has been really weird with ticks where I hunt. Turkey hunting I picked off hundreds of ticks as usual but, scouting through august and hunting sept I have only seen 1 tick on me and very few on the doe I shot. I dont miss them at all.

The worst experience I've ever had was turkey hunting the last day of the season last year (not this past May, but the May before) in Pike Co. I'm not kidding I lost count around 45. After I remember that number I just stopped counting. Even after hunting that last Saturday I still found 12 in my truck and another 18 in my hunting back with all my clothes in it. When it's that bad it just ruins the hunting trip. Not only where the ticks bad, the mosquitos where horrible too!!!! All morning long all the way up into noon quitting time. When we would stop walking and call to locate a gobbler I would have to put my facemask all the way up over my head to keep them away from my ears so I could hear a gobble and not a BUZZZZZ. I love hunting and love hunting in that area a lot, but when the pests are that bad man it just ruins your trip.

We were in Jackson and literally had to sprint back to the truck like a 1/4 mile to strip off the outer layer of camo. We used duct tape to pull em off.

It was kinda funny for a short while. I have heard that some people get them and some don't. I've bow hunted in Greenwood State forest WMA for years and my co hunters would get them and I wouldn't. Anybody else notice this?

Also, is there a dividing line in the sate like where they stop, Monmouth/ Ocean border maybe?

Where do you get permazone?

Permazone is anti-freeze, you want permanone by Rebel. I know the Kittery Trading Post in Maine sells it. I have had excellent results with Coulston's Duranon Tick repellent for preventing chiggers.

I spray my clothes etc with Duranon and let it sit outside overnight, then the following day I spray the clothes down real good with earth scent and store in a container... Once I hit my hunting spot I spray down again with the scent killer... No problems here!

Another good one is the no stinkin bugs sold at Dicks and hunting stores. It comes in a red can and it has an earth smell to it. Stops chiggers and ticks. Last for about 2 weeks on your clothes. Don't spray it on your skin just your clothing. I don't have a problem at all.
