Finally got a week to hunt. Rain Monday and Tuesday plus work kept me out of the woods. Weds. got out for a little only to find Toms with hens. Thursday too much wet stuff falling from sky got out @ 10AM. Field I like to pull into had 5 deer and 6 turkeys in it. Pushed em out as I pulled in. Walked to another field with turkeys in it. Set up about 30 yds inside woods and managed to call them with in 75 yds. Had two Jakes brake off and come in. I let them walk. As I watch the other tukeys I saw an orange blurr(fox) race out of the opposing woods and scattered the flock. Three of the birds landed in trees above me. Thought this may work to my advantage. Waited half hour for them to fly back down to find it was two hens and a Jake. I let him walk. Ran out of hunting time. Today I took two of my girls and one of their friends with me. Past two years I have taken them out of school to go with me. Its funny how every day it may take up to one hour to get them up dressed and fed for school but tell them they are going hunting and they are ready with in ten minutes. Today my 9 yr old set her alarm and woke me up. Got to my spot @ 5:15, pushed two turkeys of the roost as we went to a field where I know there will be birds. Set up @ 6:10 made a few calls the turkeys resonded and were on thier way. Now when I am with just the two girls I can keep them pretty still but add a third and its a whole different story. I placed my 7 yr old next to me and my 9 with friend behind me on another tree. The turkeys (3 Jakes) were about 50 yds out comming hard and yelling thier heads off. I look back to settle the girls and I could swear they were playing that clap game kids play "Miss Mary Mac All Dressed in black." They later said it was a spider? Any way the turkeys got about 20 yds out and put on the brakes, SOME ONE MOVED, we were busted. I decided that it was now or never. One Jake did not walk away. Sorry for the long story pictures on the way. That was zone 20 next week zone 15.

Awesome job, I can't wait to take my daughter out when she gets a couple of years older. She's only three, so I gotta wait. Now we just ride around spotting geese and turkeys. She has a blast when she gets to look out through the binocs!

Great job thumbs! Hey next year that 9 year old will be 10 and you got to get her down to get her hunting license. Youth day is awsome with the kids.
