I'm looking to do a Merriams hunt but I will be doing it DIY. I just started doing some research for tags and states. Any info you can give me would be great.

Shear Madness-

All my Merriams have been on guided hunts.
I spent the extra $$ to make the most opportunity of my limited and valuable vacation time off from work and traveling expense costs.
One of my gobblers was on the Black Hills National Forest in S.D.
Some of this I THINK spreads over into Wy.
I hear there are birds on public land in s.e. Montana.
The Gila wilderness in NM is a POSSIBLITY.

12th slam OMG!!! I'm interested but can never find anyone else who actually is.So far I've gotten the eastern and osceola and would like to get a merriams and rio!!!!

Are you interested in going on a outfitted/guided merriams hunt? Cheaper than Osceola hunts. By yourself or w/ friends? I'm not sure when I 'll go again myself.
I'm personally done w/ Grand Slam gun hunts for now, 12 is enough. Started a bow slam w/ a Rio so far.
