Anyone see a big drop in Turkeys this year and last. I used to see 50 to 100 turkeys in each of my fields. This year we are seeing 5 10 15 at the most. Some are blaming coyotes. I dont know. We still got our birds last year but not like in the past. Spots in 21 are still loaded with birds. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

my flock got hit a few years ago.
we had 80 birds on this place. then the red fox population peaked. they took every polt for a few years. my flock went down to 6 birds. the coyotes must of took the mature birds and the hens moved to safer grounds.
me and a few local trappers took 16 reds out of a half square mile.
now i'm back up to 70-80 birds. just two years after the red problem.
our reds have since disapeared. our coyotes are on the rise.
i have also seen the redtails get polts, cats get the polts.
now we have the black head vultures. they are taking live fowl.
when our population of birds crashed we stopped buying permits and gave them a chance to rebound.
now we have the black head vultures. they are taking live fowl.
I saw one of them this weekend between your place and mine. First time I've seen one of those birds here.
