Chicken thievin' %^#@!!!

Set a camera on a friend's chicken pen and coupe the other night. He lost about five or six birds in the past couple weeks.

He caught 1 huge grinner in the live catch on the second night, but the trap keeps getting overturned on him on the other nights. Ol' red likes to keep tabs on things..

Gonna get the cam back out tonight or tomorrow. Memory was full after the first day...Left a few pics from last season..oops

they make cage traps with a "bait" cage in the back. you put a chicken in the cage. they work well. not legal in all states, but work well for this type of problem.
guess you will be the farmers best friend in november. they don't prime till mid december till mid january, then they rub for the rut in late january. but i'm sure the farmer doesn't care about primeness.

Primeness....no, HE doesnt care too much about that;). One of the reds I brought you came from that place. I'll help him with with some problem stuff until Dec, but I'm not planning on concentrating on canine until Probably Mid December or so, after guys are done with six day up here.

Well the Mrs gave a call tonight around 1100p. Said she heard something on the back deck. Turned on the light and found this guy eating the suet block I hung less than 12 hours ago. I figured it was coons that had been knocking down the kids bird feeder. I hadnt put anything out for the last month or so, so I figured the coast was clear. I guess this one decided to take off with the suet and climbed the stairs to the deck to eat without being harassed by the rest of the clan...

Seems I'm on a roll here with the season closed. He looks pretty good for an April coon. Ran one over tonight at work too... too bad, I was right in front of a property I've got for next year.

UB, I liked the chicken call better than the pleading chicken I've got. I'd like to mess with the mp3 player call myself. I was looking at the amplifier speaker that plugs directly into the MP3. It's listed on a thread in predator masters.
