How do you hardcore turkey hunters usually do it. Do you use a lot of dekes or a few. Do you set them in a pattern. I have been at it for a few years now and wondering what everyone else does. Thanks.

Just a hen or two and a jake. Put them where the Tom will be able to see them.

No decoys.....only a hen for bow hunting, facing away so you can draw when he circles to get behind her.

Thanks guys. Huh. I was thinking that the more the better. (Not sure why) What are your thoughts on a full strut tom and a couple of hens. No jakes. I hunt a small private piece that has a nice amount of birds. Thanks again!!

Use a full strut Jake with a hen. The big boys look at him and think he is wimpy and when they come in to kick his butt you better be ready.;)

This might help. I try not to put my deks right directly infront of me. It is easier for them to pick you out if they have a straight line of sight at you when looking at the dek. So put them kind of off to the side in the direction you think they are coming from. Also always put the deks facing you. I really don't know why, but this is what I was always told to do. When it comes to the Jake dek put him closer to you. With any luck he'll want to kick that jake dek's butt and when he does he'll come closer into you.
