Been shooting XX78's for years without any problems but while I'm waiting for my new bow to come in I have been thinking about trying some FMJ's. For strictly bowhunting, is there any real advantage to using carbons ?

I shoot a longbow, and beat my arrows up pretty good stump shooting all the time and shooting every day. If your shooting a compound you probably won't be shooting at many sticks in the ground and you'll be able to practice much less and get more accurate.
That said, I've tried aluminum and feel I'm too rough on my arrows to shoot aluminum. They bend too easily...I only use carbons. Don't really know what the differences in speed/performance are between the two, but I'd imagine that has a lot more to do with having your setup tuned properly than what your arrow is made of....
