My 6mm and I want to get tuned up for groundhogs. I'm looking for a range of 200 yards [more if posible] that I can get into without spending a lot of scarce green.

Here in Jersey, I'm limited to 100 yards. South Jersey Shooting Club goes to 300, but I'de have to join.

When I lived in Carlisle PA there was a state range off Rt 34 North out to 600 yards. I can't find it on the PGC site. I can look at it on TopoZone though and it looks like they 'shortened' it. Carlisle is now a 3-hour run from home.

Any suggestions?

Sight your 6mm in 2 inches high at 100 yds and you'll be able to hold dead on out to 300 yds. I have a .243 and have found that this works very well.

Thanks for the reply.

Believe it or not, I want to get better at wind doping out to 300-400+ yards, and there is no better way to do that than to do that. I feel I owe it to whatever I shoot at.

I have a new place in PA where long shots will be normal and 'swirley'. I am so cranked about 'hogs this year you can not imagine.

There's a place in millville, NJ I use to belong to year's ago that's still in exsistence today the Cumberland Rifle Club. They have a 600 yard range but you will have to join. I don't believe there are any public ranges in NJ that have a 600 yard range. The web address for Cumberland is (
www.cumberlandriflemen.com (http://www.cumberlandriflemen.com/)) Good luck.

Ft Dix has a long range cheap too.

Thanks guys

Usana is an option, but expensive.

Cumberland Rifleman requires a membership [about $200.00]. Ditto for Dix.

I'm going to do it the 'old fashioned way' and do it while hunting with a buddy 'spotting' for me.

Thanks all for the input.

Pay the $10.00 guest fee and I'll take you to SJ on Piney Hollow. There's also a place in Winslow/Atco I think, Telford??

The place in Atco is Telco. Took the muzzleloader test there many years ago. Was a really nice looking place but I believe its a private club.

Thanks for the offer. Call me at 609.320.6570 so we can arrange getting together. By the way, I found the range that was near my Carlisle, PA home and it still has two butts at 300.

Quinton Sportsmens' Club has range out to 200 yds. Great facility, complete club -- covered rilfe, rimfire, handgun ranges, trap, skeet, sporting clays, archery, clubhouse, etc. Great membership culture, very friendly. Been a member for years.

Don't waste your time going to USANA, Skip Meyers the pres of the club is an A-HOLE. Just ask anyone that had a run in with him and they'll agree.

I don't know of any public ranges over 100 yards. My fathers club goes to 200yrds and I belong to USANA but I have never seen a range there over 100yrds.

P.S. Skip no longer has anything to do with USANA since Harbor Site has bought it, that's why I joined.

One of my farms has the ability to get me at 200+ yards. I'm going to give that a try. I can't beat the price.
