started using them this year, love them. Shot 2 deer both ran no more than 50 yards. They shot like a field tip. I use the 3 blade.

If you plan to hunt out of state, check the states regulations. Some states (example: Idaho) do not allow expandables.

is 57 lb draw enough for a passthrough

In most cases, yes. A neatly tucked arrow behind the shoulder will pass through most of the time as long as there is no bone in the way. I pull over 70# and have hit the shoulder and barely got any penetration. Just remember, it's not how fast or how much weight, it's location, location, location!

Guzzo, my 11 year old daughter shot her first doe this past fall. 37lbs draw weight, 18 yards, complete pass through, deer ran into the ground. It was all over in 35 yards. Shot placement & lots of practice. Lower weights use cut from tip broadheads. I shoot 70# bow w/rage 3 blades, killed 5 deer with them no problems. Stuck one high in the shoulder of a buck, Problem. Never found that one. Tracked 2 miles the next day, wasn't even dragging the leg. Gun hunters got him 3 weeks later. I'm still arguing with a friend that claims his Muzzy's would have blown through the shoulder. LOL never. I've shot through 2 peices of plywood & lodged the arrow in a 3/4" ceder fence. the peices of plywood were 4" apart & fence was 6" behind them. As the last guy said, it is all about shot placement & from time to time we all have a bad shot or two. GL.
Truth be told, it really does not matter what type of head you shoot. If you double lung them they are dead quickly. Shoot what flies well for you. Good luck.

Can't argue with that logic Doe!
I like broadheads that get a little more than normal expansion to help me out sometimes if I miss my spot by a bit. But, in the end, a bad shot is a gone deer.

Not always true, a bad shot can happen to anybody due to the fact that we are shooting at moving targets. Deer can move a lot after you release and I love the rage broadheads because they do the job even if the placement isn't quite right. I'll attach photo of doe last year that jumped string and started to spin. Shot was way back and low. Next day, morning, and 250 yards later, there she be. Unbelieve able what those heads do. I'm sold.

Dont include me in WE . I will never shoot at a moving deer no matter how big he is. If I cant get him to stop, he gets a free pass.

I don't think he is referring to actually shooting at a walking, running deer. More or less deer are very jumpy animals by nature and string jump can occur. The sound of that bow going off causes the deer to hunch down getting ready to spring off. They actually aren't "dodging" the arrow. They are just getting ready to make a mad dash off. IMHO (just mine) if you haven't made a bad shot on a deer you haven't hunted long enough or been in the woods long enough. It can hap to anyone. What matters most is the next step you take after you know your shot may of not been the best.

For those that have used both the 2 and 3 blade rages..which do you prefer? I shot a doe with the 2 blade and it worked great..deer went 25 yards..was thinking that the 3 blade would give me more cutting surface than the 2 blade.

I have talked to my local sport shop and they said that the 2 blade is better. The 3 blade have troubles opening up. I personily use the 2 blade and love them, just for the reason as my photo i posted above. I would recommend the rage 2 blade to any bowhunter. It just gives you a quick and easy tracking.
