I just bought a box of 12 Ga. 3'' mags. BB long range shells and I'm putting them threw a full choke , but my question is , what's my max range ? and how many BB's are in a 1 5/8 oz load ?

Approximately 81 pellets. I couldn't guess at the effective range. I'm assuming the velocity of this load is rated at 1260FPS- 1300FPS? BB's are only .18 caliber. Assume the pattern density will dictate the range you need to be effective at. The more pellets on target = more energy on target. That may be a more effective means of determining the killing power vs. defining the penetration capabilities of an .18 caliber lead sphere at say 40 yds. driven at 1300+FPS.
