I have a .270 WSM Winchester model 70 That I've been shooting for 2 years now but I still like my Rem.700 ADL in .270 better.. less recoil and more accurate..I use a Marlin .35 Rem for the thick stuff..

Well I am in Bucks County Pa, So thats only shotgun. I use a rem. 12g 870 wingmaster, with a fully rifled barrel and leupold scope. My father passed it down to me and I love the gun. If I go with a rifle outside of my county I use a rem. Model 700 30-06.

It all depends on were iam hunting. If iam in bucks all you can use is shot gun so, 12 ga is what it is with 2 slugs backed up with a buck shot. I mainly deer hunt up in Bradford co. and Center co. were i perfer to use my .270 150 grain or .35 marlin if iam in the thick. but when iam still hunting, no matter where iam i will take a 12ga with buck shot. up in Bradford you can get some really long range shots like 300-500yrds and the 300 win mag will really reach out and touchem. the lightest i would use for deer would be a .243. my all around gun i use the most would be my .270 rem 150 grain.

I have used the same Model 91 Browning Lever Rifle in .308 with 1.5 to 5 X Leupold scope for hunting whitetails in the North Maine Woods every year, for the past 25 years. It is light, short, accurate, reliable, and has a box magazine. Last September I was able to take a Maine bull moose with it.

I hunt with a 300 Weatherby Magnum. I handload 150gr Barnes XXX bullets to 3456 with 88.5gr of RL22.
Yes, this is way more than needed for whitetails but I'd never get to hunt with the gun if I didn't use it during deer season.
Before I bought this gun in 2001, I hunted with a 30-06 Sako.
Both guns wear Leupold 3-9 X 40 scopes. Vari-X II.

Remington model 700 in .270 with factory scope. I love this gun. It is dead on at 100 yards. (upgraded last year)
For the previous 19 years I used a Marlin 30 30 with a (cheap as hell) Swift scope. Entire setup cost me $200 when I was 12 yrs old. A good solid gun.

If I hunt upstate in the DWGNRA, (3D) I'll use either my Win Model 88 .308, T/C Encore. 45-70 or my Marlin 336 .35 Rem. I've also used my T/C Contender 7mm TCU, or .44 Mag.
Down home here (5C) I'll use my T/C Hawken .50 cal, Win 1300 12 gauge, or in the late muzzleloader season I use my T/C Firestorm flintlock.
I also so a compound bow during regular gun season also. It all depends on where I hunt.;)

The same rifle that Milo Hanson used to down the 213" world record typical. Although it took him three shots. I guess he wasn't using Barnes X bullets :D. Actually, there's a chunk of bullet lodged in that bucks main beam from the first shot. X bullet may have broke the antler off and disqualified it.
Only problem with the lever gun is you have to lift it out of the rest to cycle a new round. :p

Mossberg 20 ga slug gun with a a Pentax 2x7x32 scope, fed with Remington Buckhammer 2 3/4" slugs. That is the only slug I have shot that has never tumbled at least once while sighting in. Longest shot was 67 yards. Light gun that groups one or less inch at 50 yards off plain rest.

I do most of my deer hunting in PA in zone 5C and do it all with my T/C Omega stainless with laminated thumbhole stock. Works great down here and since I hunt areas where you really have to watcch and pick your shot the muzzleloader is not a handicap as I don't need to throw lead indiscriminately. When going elsewhere I fall back to a Rem 700 KS mountain rifle in 7mm mag.

Browning BRL 308 with a Leupold 3 x 9 Vari-x III on it.
First choice is Win. M70 FW, old piece and accuate with well prepared cases, seems to prefer 150 gr. Sierras. Lord knows I've tried a lot of other bullets. Second is a similar old Win. in 270, but now stays racked. If the clouds ever pass, I'm lookin towards a Tikka 308.
