Well I shot the DXT, Drenalin Hoyt AM 32 and 35. I narrowed it down to either the DXT or the Drenalin. Both the Matthews just felt better in my hand and the draw was a lot smoother. They all shot really good not much vibration or hand shock. The DXT had no vibration or shock after the shot but the draw wasn't a smooth as the Drenalin. However its just the opposite with the Dren...draw was very smooth but there was some vibration in the grip. I shot all the bows with no stabalizer and were set at approx 63lbs. The Hoyts felt "heavier" in my hand than the Matthews. So I guess its going to come down to the DXT or Dren.

Just curious were you shooting them at Bob's Little Sport Shop last night? If so I'm the older of the 2 guys that were working the archery department. Still trying to decide ?????? :D

I have a Drenalin and love it.

I bought it last summer and when the DXT came out in the winter I considered trading up but the only real difference I could see was the axel to axel length. I'm not a huge fan of the ultra short configuration. I can't say too much from personal experience but people who know more than me say you loose some stability and accuracy the shorter you go. However, a smaller bow is more maneuverable. I guess everything has trade-offs.

I haven't shot the newest Mathews yet and probably won't because my Drenalin is doing just fine.

One thing I would caution you is with the Mathews drop away rest. I had a real hard time getting it right. Paper tuned and walk back tuned and eventually got it but it was not easy. I like the looks of their new rest but again have not tried it.

Hope this helps.

Their is supposed to be a new Mathews coming that's going to top the DXT and Drenalin. Check it out on Mathews site.

Did ya make him ride in the bed of the truck on the way home?????:D:D:D I brake his stones alot :fight: but he is a good guy. Just don't tell him I said so and good luck with your decision. Most of the feedback that i've been hearing is that the DXT is a better bow. Thats just what i've heard because I haven't any personal experience with either one. I'm a Hoyt guy myself.

LOL!! I felt bad so I let him in the cab but I put some plastic down!

Im really undecided between the 2 still...I will probably have to come in and shoot them both again though. :D
I dont understand why the DXT draw did feel as smooth to me as the Drenalin. If the draw was the same I would go with the DXT.

i have a dxt and its alittle hard to group, out of 5 shots 1 always seems to vare off alittle, i think the short bow is not very foregiving, i sold my dren for the shorter dxt, but on the other side i have a bow-tech tribute which in my opinion shoots better than both mathews, and all my mathews ive had and i had almot every top of the line bow they offered, with the bowtech i can shoot a dozen and they all go right where i aim. so did you kwow that 35% of the price of a mathews goes towards advertisement,

Actually I wanted to shoot the tribute as well--Ive pretty much decided on the Drenalin over the DXT. I think Bob's just became a Bowtech dealer so Im hoping I can shoot the tribute to compare to the Dren.

Hey Jeremiah,
Glad to hear you like the bow. Did you get the noise in the rest straightened out and if so what was it. My quess was that it just needed to be broke in a little. Hope it wasn't nothing I did. We,ll have to get together and do some shooting.Bring along the little man if you want. I'll be shooting for leagues with my daughter Saturday afternoon at Bob's if you want to swing by. Good luck with the bow and let me know if you need anything.
