we use to ride around in the midday and watch for tracks and crossings deer sign and acorns and check the wind hang a stand and shoot or back then shoot at deer almost any giving set

now if you try to just poke in a stand without checking a mile in all directions you have someone who may have put out 10 pounds of corn wanting to flatten your tires or worse

i have hunted in the early years in sight of other hunters and seen them shoot and they have seen me shoot to no big deal at the end of the night we would help any body track if they needed it

last year i didnt hunt one my stands opening day but a friends stand instead and second saturday this kid in his early 20s tells me that he has hunted there since opening day i said welcome to the neighborhood I've been there for over 20 years no big deal if you get one hit that you need a hand just wait by my truck when i come I'll give you a hand

most encounters are not that easy stands messed with and trucks what gives are they that desperate to kill a deer or what there is more than enough room down there but sometimes you get close big deal were all feeding the same deer you see them today i'll see them tomorrow

kinda takes allot of the fun out of it for me these days anyway i guess i just had to vent sorry

Jersey woods are waaaay overcrowded.... Zone 19 and whartons are a circus....people come from miles and miles away to hunt them, and then have the audacity to get in your face about it... like they own it...its nuts... I'm a local to these woods, and have been my entire life... I dont bother anyone when Im out.... seems like they like to bother me, clubs show up from counties away, terrorize the woods and me (pod, still hunting) And fights get started over whos' deer is whos'...:nuts:

Yeah buddy, it sucks now...doe is freaking nuts... we were sitting last year and had a drive come through, out around the carranza area, and the guys actually threatened us for hunting "they're" area... mind you it was public property, and a piece that I hunt every year, I asked where they were from and they said winslow...go figure:confused::rolleyes: "they're woods"..... I laughed in their face and told them to keep moving on or the fuzz was gonna get a call, that straightened em' up.... Too many people, and too many @ssholes on top of that

when i started hunting in zone 19 back in the 80's i could see 30-50 deer a night

now your damm lucky to see a deer or two

they opened up that all you can kill sh1t and they did just that all the way into feb.

wonder where all the deer went THEY GOT SHOT:shoot:

dead does mean dead buck fawns

we were checked in zone 25 a couple years ago by a warden that ask us if we had shot any does it was during regular shotgun season and we said we dont shoot does

he YOU guys dont understand you HAVE to shoot the does i ask him why

he said that it improves the feeding for the overall deer herd

we were standing in a 200 acre alfalfa field with the field next to it soybean and corn across the street when i pointed this out he had a blank look like thats what i read in school:nuts:

I left Tabernacle after 30 years of hunting NJ,moved to North Carolina.

Today I joined a hunt club two hours from my house in Kitty Hawk,

three thousand acres, with just 30 members, 62 tower stands,

a club house, bunk house for guests.

I didn't know that things like that existed

GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN:eek: ;)
